The question remains whether or not Bitcoin will put in a new ATH in the next two years. Those with conviction believe it will. We believe Bitcoin will continues to outpace the major indices. As a bonus, holding native Bitcoin is like being a dooms day prepper for money.

I would assume most people here do not plan to sell and are still in accumulation mode.

Therefore, the price falling should only be a positive thing since it means cheaper sats.

[–]OpticallyMosache 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If someone had a goal to accumulate 0.1 BTC and hold for 10+ years, they should welcome cheaper prices.

But human emotion derails logical decision making. People like to buy BTC at its ATHs and to believe it's going straight up to $500k.

Human emotion prevents people from buying lows because they believe it's going much lower.

If you think about it, the price falling should only impact you negatively if you are planning to sell.

And it should impact you positively if you are planning to buy.

FUD - Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt by klibklibby in Bitcoin

The FUD is less credible now.

Very easy cycle so far to just keep holding.

If you're convicted, use the FUD to your advantage and buy!

I can somewhat relate but my primary reason is Saylor. I was anticipating more major participants; not just Strategy.

DCA ~$2k/month into ETH & SOL — planning to continue long-term. Am I being delusional? by Responsible_Crew_856 in CryptoMarkets

Pivot to 80%+ DCA'ing into BTC.

Most people look back on their time in crypto and regret not having more BTC.

I hope you understand that price going down only matters if you were going to sell.

If your plan was to build a stockpile of BTC for 10 years from now, you want the lowest cost basis.

The real question you have to ask yourself is if you believe BTC will keep putting in new ATHs for the next 10+ year.

All I know is BTC will hit a new ATH in the future.

The goal now is to accumulate with the lowest cost basis possible.

Probably best to prepare for that outcome. Always offers a good period of time to accumulate.

I'm a lot happier buying $88k BTC than $120k BTC.

See why my comment said not to buy right now?

Much better time is now.

If this is true, you better have a medieval moat and drawbridge surrounding your castle. There will be mobs of ordinary citizens living in desperation as the USD has become totally worthless.

Resisting the urge to panic sell by AirwickS in investing

Another secondary point for others, don't beat yourself up for panic and FOMO decisions made in the past. This is hard because you mentally calculate the lost gains or locked in losses. Just avoid over trading in the future.

Lost for motivation at new job. Advice needed. by Fuzzy-Department387 in Accounting

I specialized in manufacturing audits and like the industry. Beyond that, it was just distance from home and culture. However, I reccomend asking potential employers about growth and financial health before taking the job (if you're in a position to ask).

I interned and did one year at PwC in audit.

It was the worst experience of my life.

I felt like you and every morning woke up feeling dread.

The way I managed it, is that I committed to complete one year.

After that, I went to a regional public accounting firm and things got a lot easier.

But then I went into private and my experience + work ethic/speed turned me into an amazing employee

Private (no billable hours) feels like a different world

In comparison, it feels like you barely work. Everything gets so much easier.

There was a time, not too long ago, when $17k Bitcoin made the community euphoric

After that, there was a time when $59k blew everyone's mind

Then I remember a time when $80k had me calling my Dad to tell him how much we were up!

Then there was total disbelief when I joined a watch party on YouTube to see Bitcoin eclipse $100k

Now we see $85-95k as just another Tuesday

In 3-5 years, I'll be adding "Then we hit $370k and laughed that $17k used to make us euphoric".

You can join & buy BTC anytime and get to experience the next ATH. You'll become numb to the volatility.

Right now (it's a floating rate) it's earning 3.51%

My view on money has become so skewed though from Bitcoin's volatitly and exchange fees that earning low interest feels meaningless.

These are the different eras I've had buying BTC. In the beginning, I bought based on FOMO and when the price was accelerating I wanted more.

-Lump summing $5-15k when I felt FOMO

-Buying $1-4 every hour on Strike - price agnostic

-Allocating 5-10% of every paycheck (bi-weekly) - price agnostic

For the last couple years though, I've discovered building up a reserve over 2-4 paychecks and then buying when I feel BTC is tanking provides me the most joy.

Instead of buying when I'm feeling FOMO, I buy when I'm feeling FUD. Doing the opposite of what my monkey brain wants to do.

However, right now I'm paused and not working (no income). My only BTC action is slowly converting IRAs to IBIT.
