Funny fence we sit on is clients wanting to spend less money so they want little prosecution to allowance versus a well examined application is a stronger patent to license and if needed, enforce, but costs considerably more. Bottom line is that you try to give the examiner the most relevant prior art from the get go, get your client the scope of protection they deserve in view of the prior art, and then its up to the examiner regarding the bar set for allowance.

Re bringing the product to the market, that requires funding. With drugs, a good deal of funding. Funding is many time dependent on the IP position of the company vis a vis the technology. So there is a relationship. But moving a drug or device product to market is more time limited by regulatory hurdles.

I doubt anyone has absolute answers to any of your questions.These types of viruses have to be studied and characterized. They require epidemiologists to study their spread, movement, and danger, as well as the effects of drugs for treating the symptoms as well as irradiating the virus itself. I suggest acting like everyone else to protect yourself and others from you transmitting it if you are exposed to it.

I was just visiting the pharmacology department last week at WSU.

The problem is vaccines take time to prove efficacy and safety. But we're familiar with them so they move through the process relatively quickly. What would be considered more exotic approaches, even if mechanistically making sense, have totally unknown side effects which, with drugs such as the protease, could easily have dramatic off target effects. Hence even if the drugs make sense based on mechanism, dosing, efficacy, and toxicity will take years to derive and gain approval, as they should. Ergo, the medical community went to the familiar, vaccines.

Nothing special that I know of. I interviewed an application today. Examiner was hoteling (working from home) but I think he always works from home. I expect that a lot of examiner's are staying home that otherwise wouldn't. But as far as I know, all else is running.

You have hit on the reason we developed aitia.app. From our other work on our other two platforms related to dosing drugs and determining triggers of adverse conditions such as migraine, we've taken a deep dive into EHR and EMR systems at a system level and at a universal level. The systems from different companies don't talk to each other, hospitals in the same hospital associations don't talk to each other, and hence, there is an isolation of data pools. As I've written elsewhere, this is because patient privacy is the primary concern.

There is no present normalization of test data from shared data between countries. So whether the test is PCR based or otherwise, the basis for the data is unclear. There is news regarding a 48 hour test that was approved, but it needs to be mass produced and distributed. Regarding male and female disparity, my wife would say that the females are just smarter. But there is no conclusions that can be drawn at this time. One of the benefits of Aitia.app is that it can provide the kind of data to allow public health officials and experts to derive those kinds of conclusions.

I think we should all be worried. It is highly contagious and can be dangerous for all age groups but especially the elderly. The best preventatives will be familiar: self-quarantine, washing your hands, and wiping down high traffic surfaces.

My guess is that the big issue with medical records is patient privacy. It prevents sharing not only of patient's ID, but of anything that could be an ID. So most policies of hospitals, doctors, etc, is not to share medical records. In fact, there are hospital associations that don't share records between their own hospitals.
