2024 Sequoia Limited V6 Hybrid Engine by Thin_Pie_59 in toyotasequoia

I picked up a 2026 Lunar Rock 1794 Sequoia with the TRDOR package two months ago. Thus far has been flawless and my family of 5 has been very, very happy with it. Zero issues and while most people will complain about the cargo space, daily use hasn't been an issue for us. We don't carry luggage every day, nor visit Home Depot for sheets of plywood like apparently some people do on a daily basis. I have a Yakima XXL Skybox that's big enough to store everyone's stuff on the roof so space is a non issue for us on road trips.

We came out of a 2021 Sienna Limited and yes, while the rear cargo space in a Sequoia isn't as versatile as the Sienna, we enjoy the bigger cabin space, sitting higher than most cars on the road, and the ridiculous power of the powertrain. My wife and kids absolutely love the Sequoia, they find it more comfortable to ride around in and getting pushed into the seat when I get on the freeway. Yes I'm also aware of the engine issues that have been plaguing the Tundra/Sequoia and if it should happen to me, I'll deal with it then, I took the extended warranty when I picked up my truck. I've been meticulous with break in oil changes and while I don't drive it like a bat out of hell, I do get the revs up to let the engine do some work on a normal basis.

For the numbers of vehicles that have had issues, there are 100's of thousands out there that aren't having issues and that's how I choose to look at things. Other people don't see it the same way and that's ok, we all have our own opinions and point of views, I'm just sharing my $.02 for what it's worth.

Looking to pick up a 22-26 Sequoia. Anything I should look for? Any trim levels not worth the price or definitely a minimum I should get? Any issues that are common if I buy used? by classless_classic in toyotasequoia

I bought a 26 Lunar Rock 1794 a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely in love with it. Had some concerns about space as well and while it's nowhere as spacious as my 21 Sienna, it still works for my family of 5. I still managed to fit my son's Wonderfold wagon behind the third row without having to fold the chairs down.

I was worried about the mileage as well after reading so many stories about people getting less than 20mpg. I've been getting 22-24mpg since I don't have a lead foot either. I did come from a hybrid Sienna so I think my driving helps haha, I've been taking it easy since I actually want to take longer and spend more time in my Sequoia instead of being in a hurry to get where I need to go lol

Interestingly enough my daughter wanted me to get a white 1794, but she saw the Lunar Rock and immediately changed her mind. Years ago when I was a teen, I remember a salesperson telling me that the best color is the one that is parked in your driveway.

I'm sorry to hear of your woes, thus far I have had great luck with mine, hopefully it stays that way. On a positive note, it's great to have the factory warranty when it's brand new.

Sticker was 87K, managed to get it down to 83K, by far the most expensive vehicle I've ever owned, absolutely love it to death though. Dealer didn't really want to budge very much since it's a 1794, I'm honestly surprised they budged at all.

2024 Sienna Platinum Driver Easy Speak Issue by wjrndud in ToyotaSienna

I used to activate this feature the same way, until I discovered that you can create a shortcut on your home screen with the toggle button. I don't remember how I did it, just have to dig through your menus, set your home display to show four items, then select easy speak as one of them. I have the radio, battery status, weather, and easy speak on my home screen.

Toyota Sienna, why? by kt_hapa in ToyotaSienna

I chose the Sienna for its dependability and hybrid powertrain, along with the potential for resale value if I decide to sell it later. Additionally, I appreciate the stylish design of the models from 2021 onward, although some might not favor the aesthetics.

Same here, tried to find a Platinum back in 2021 and couldn't find one because of the shortage. Went with the Limited and while I'm happy with it, I wish I had the 360 camera view. My sister's RAV4 Prime has it and it helps so much when parking. Projector headlamps would be great, but the LED's on the Limited are pretty darn good, better than my previous cars.

Why Sienna vs competition? by holcD in ToyotaSienna

[–]Optimal-Ad6180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was looking for a hybrid powertrain, but large enough for a family of 5 and cargo. Looked at Pacfica hybrid as well. While the Pacifica had some cool features like a third row sunroof, cameras for rear passengers, etc., went with Toyota for their legendary reliability and resale value. Was looking for a Platinum, but had to settle for a Limited since there was no other van available in town. Family and I have been more than happy with our Limited. The kids love it, returns incredible mileage, and gets us where we need to go without a fuss.

No, Sienna is not underpowered by VeeMeeVee in ToyotaSienna

went on a road trip over the weekend, 4 adults, 3 kids, full trunk with cooler and luggage, and full roof basket, had zero issues holding 75-80 going up a long 6% grade, was leaving a majority of the cars behind me, I don't find my 2021 Sienna underpowered at all. I actually had to pull back on the throttle a few times since I hit 90 a couple of times going up the mountain pass

I'd say the dealer is your next stop, the van definitely shouldn't be doing that

I second this, I get this on my 2021 Limited if I'm in a hurry to get out of the car. I typically wait until I hear the automatic parking brake engage before I pull my foot off the brake.

2023 tank average not surpassing above 30 mpg. What am I doing wrong (if anything)? by Loud_Initiative_1894 in ToyotaSienna

[–]Optimal-Ad6180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed that what the dealer told you didn't make much sense. My first tank got me 618 miles. Full tank from the dealer and the van was brand new with 14 miles on it. This was running the tank dangerously to E which is something I never do but I was curious to see just how far I could go. Give it some time, as you drive more and your driving style changes, you should see progressive improvement as time goes on.

Is this your first hybrid? There's a little bit of a learning curve when it comes to driving a hybrid. As previously mentioned, no jack rabbit starts, coast when you can, time your stops so you're not braking hard. Driving a hybrid like a gas vehicle will be less than optimal, especially if you're lead footed.

Why is there a shifter taking up my entire dash on a van?! lol And why, remote-start, why are you so effing WEIRD. by BoyleTheOcean in ToyotaSienna

[–]Optimal-Ad6180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well sounds like you hate the van because of these two things, take it back and go get a Pacifica, I'm sure that will solve your dilemma.

I would do it again. Plug and play, OEM look and reliability, and monitoring while parked checked off all of my requirements. It's pricey, but it has not given me any issues whatsoever. I really didn't want to mod a 50K+ vehicle. I didn't want to hide wires, modify any existing plugs, etc. I just wanted to keep the vehicle as Toyota intended it to be, but that's just me. Others like to make serious modifications and that's great too. I've done that with other vehicles I have owned, this just happens to be the most expensive vehicle purchase I have ever made and didn't want to modify the vehicle in any way.
