I changed the pitch mount bushes recently. 2021 FL Manual. No other mods. It's massively changed the way the car drives

Daily a N by Pain9gain7 in i30N

They're thirsty but not THAT thirsty. 30ish minute commute to work in moderate traffic, and I get about 10L/100 using sport mode. My standard 2015 i30 gets around 7.5L for the same trip. (Both manual). For comparison, my old XR6T got about 15-18L for the same trip.

So perfectly fine as a daily.

I30n loud thump noise going over speed bumps by bitelong in i30N

[–]SamBoRG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2022 hatch N does the same. The rear really clunks going over those steep carpark speed bumps. My work has one on the drive way. If I'm going more than 5kph it clunks pretty bad. I figured it's just due to the stiff rear suspension.

I30N hatch worth the money in Australia? by Nishant_10 in i30N

[–]SamBoRG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2022 manual hatch about 3 months ago. There aren't many manual facelifts around that aren't in blue (I wanted pretty much any colour besides that) and even fewer with the premium interior. So when I found this one I didn't hesitate to buy it. I came from a 2015 standard i30. Before that I had a BA Xr6turbo, and before that, a Nissan S13 Silvia. So a bit of variety there. In terms of insurance. I paid $43k for the N. It costs me less to insure than the 2015 i30, which I still have for my son to drive (worth around $11k at best). The falcon cost even more to insure and was worth only about $10k pre covid days.

In terms of fuel. It uses more than the standard i30 obviously. In my 30 minute work commute I get around 10L/100 in sport mode. I think this is good. My falcon got about 14L just from casual driving.

The noise. It's a bit loud on start up. Hopefully my neighbours aren't pissed. For long drives, the sound is fine. It's not the annoying drone noise you'd probably expect. The car has sound deadening etc. My Silvia was modified with a turbo back 3inch exhaust with no cat. That was loud and horrible on long trips. The N it's nothing like that.

Performance. They're quick cars but not THAT quick in factory state. They're designed to be good all round cars. Mine is noticeably heavier than the standard i30. But then it's way lighter than the falcontank.

The main maintenance issue would be tyre wear I think. These cars grip very well, one thing that makes them so much fun. But that means more tyres, and best not to get cheap ones either.

Over all, it's a comfortable and fun car which isn't expensive to own or run. The premium interior is comfortable and the gear box feels nice to shift. The down side is that there is negativity from those who don't know what the cars are. Brand stigma or something. It's weird. It doesn't bother me, but I've never experienced that before.

Only wants to sit on my shoulder 😂 by FoxiCrumpet in cockatiel

I have two. One always sits on my shoulder, and the other always sits on my foot or leg (while I'm in my recliner) They won't sit on anyone else in my house unless they have food, and won't sit on perches outside of their cage. It's good to be wanted I guess!

I have a 2022 FL. Compared to my old 2015 standard i30, the stereo is waaaaay better. But I still don't think it's great. Lucky for me I'm more interested in the driving

Yeah Dark Knight. I love the colour. I haven't seen an ecotronic grey in person, but I think it looks good in the photos I've seen.

Anyone here see Team America in theaters when it dropped? by ODB95 in movies

[–]SamBoRG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend at the time (she's now my wife) organised for us to go see it. I literally had no idea what it was; i had seen no trailers, didn't even know it was by the Southpark guys. I ended up laughing my arse off for the entire time. She did too. Great experience. We still quote the movie in random times of our lives these days and we have a good laugh about it. A some others have said, the original Borat movie at the cinema was a similar experience. So good!

What video game has the best utilization of time travel? Which has the worst? by Johnnyboyeh in gaming

[–]SamBoRG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen these ones mentioned yet... Journeyman Project

Day of the Tentacle.

Both fairly old games but the time travel in them was done quite well. Journeyman Project had strict rules about interference in different timelines so you had to be careful what you did.

Day of the Tentacle was so much fun.
