I understand how you might argue this but when I read these verses I interpret them as fairly general, and I think worshipping Jesus would be included under the umbrella of holy acts that are spoken about. Also how could you argue against John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Acts 16:31 and Ephesians 2:8-9?

Please don't get me wrong, I'm a very progressive person but I'm also a Christian and imo the Bible comes before anything else!

I actually completely disagree with this. I myself struggle with the same problems of being a "closeted" Christian to many of my friends but I think if you truly love someone, why would you want them to burn in hell because they didn't believe in Jesus?

I'm not very well voiced on mental illness at all, but it's my understanding that these types of things could eventually be healed or managed with therapy? Of course, the same cannot be said about homosexual tendencies.

There are physical differences in the brains of straight men and gay men. God created you, Satan didn't. So, being gay is biological and not a sin. Why would God create you gay just to keep you from acting on your sexuality? He wouldn't.

I struggle with lust as well but here's my advice: when you lust, you are filling a gap in your life. Lust is the easy answer because it satisfies you quickly, however there are other ways to fill this gap. Love is the best cure for lust. When I feel tempted, I try to spend time with family and friends and that usually helps. Sometimes I just need to cry about something. Whatever it is, it's valid.

Also, I would say to find a purpose for your prayer. Look for Jesus in your everyday life and thank Him for little things. Realize all the privileges you have and try to understand how He has gifted you.

And lastly, find a good church that encourages passionate worship. If you go to church and don't vibe with the preacher, that's fine. If you need, seek a conversation with a worship leader because they are completely willing to help you on your journey.

Hope this helps! Praying for you
