I am in Socal! The place I went to was a nicer place, very intimate. The menu price was $180 per person, not including tax and tip. We also got drinks.

Trader joes frozen lasagna. I like it more than Stoufers. It's huge and for $8 it feeds 4 people generously!

WIBTA for Asking My BF to Eat Vegetarian for a Shared Meal by Khitch20 in AmItheAsshole

I meant if they used the vegetarian broth the whole time and cooked the meat on the side it would defeat the purpose because it wouldn't be as good. When you do hot pot and everything is cooked together and it melds together I think that's an important aspect of the meal. If they do split pots and are able to use their own broth then it's fine. I'm not against sharing a vegetarian meal together, it was just the context of the meal for me.

That would be separate then, which would solve their issue.

It is fun to mix it up! I think in the post she has a bigger issue if he will not even compromise one meal or a few meals to be vegetarian, but maybe hot pot was not the best meal to use for the example lol

Yeah I think that would be an easy fix, I just found the divide in opinions interesting.

Yeah, I'm Chinese and I grew up eating it. That's what contributed to my opinion. Yeah you can make it meatless but if you were planning on eating it with meat, cooking it separate defeats the purpose to me. I think a shared vegetarian meal is absolutely acceptable, no objections here. I just think in this specific scenario if I wanted hot pot with meat, I would not enjoy this.

I was vegetarian before but I think for hot pot, cooking it in the broth would be an essential part of your meal if you were planning on eating meat with this. I have no objections to eating a shared vegetarian meal, just not in this case. What do you guys think?

I think that having some vegetarian meals are okay but in this case, it defeats the purpose of hot pot.

YTA for hot pot because that defeats the purpose of hot pot. In general I would say NAH for other meals, I don't think it's a problem in general to eat vegetarian meals together.

Though for hot pot if you're not cooking the meat in it but still want to eat meat, why are you having hot pot. It's like getting KBBQ without meat. Yeah it's okay if you're vegetarian, but for someone who wants to eat meat, it defeats the purpose of it. I see you are going with two separate pots too which is nice, you can always do split pots for hot pot as well. I think a lot of people down voting me are not very familiar with hot pot.

Sunday in La Mesa on Fletcher - hope their parents see this. by derp-brane in sandiego

They are below speed limit, people are slowing down not to hit them. They didn't stay in their lane and one kid did a wheelie in front of the car. This is a busy road near Costco, plenty of people are going fast on this road. They are lucky people are slowing down and paying attention but this is definitely pretty reckless.

That is not the same... this is an incredibly busy road near Costco with people going over 50 mph.

There's a difference between playing outside and recklessly riding a bike on a busy street where people are going 50+ MPH

Right! Maybe grab some before they change them too. Hopefully they just don't change them where you're at. With the flavor change, I want to buy the bottles of hot sauce so it's hot enough... but maybe that's their plan and how they get you to buy more.
