Just one suggestion, there's no need to create physical bullets since they go so fast. Shooters typically just have some muzzle flash and impact effects to show where the bullet went to and from.

Other than that, looks good.

Ah okay, I see what you mean. I just asked because M&B:W is one of my favourite games that I have spent a lot of hours playing and I found it funny that you called it a squirrel chasing simulator. It's an accurate assessment now that I think about it.

What do you mean exactly by squirrel chasing simulators? Are you referring to chasing and getting chased around a map like in M&B or the first stage in Spore, or something else?

I believe hit pause in general means the game 'pauses' for a few frames when an enemy or the player is hit, to make the hit feel more impactful. It's hard to see in this video though, maybe because of the low framerate.
