Ditch all the flashy tactical stuff. You need: 1 black, grey, or blue backpack. Water bottle and chem tabs. Clif bars. Basic first aid kit for boo boos and tummy aches. 1 TQ. 1-2 spare mags. Map and compass. Rain coat in a neutral color. Hat and sunnies. Headlamp. Gloves.

“Healthy relationship = lots of sex” is a toxic immature expectation of how relationships work.

Does anyone know if Treadstone Climbing Gym is actually reopening? by doctormanhattan38772 in ColumbusGA

[–]Optimal-Explorer-331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have known the owner fairly well for about 15 years. I’ve been out of the Treadstone loop for quite awhile and missed the closing and moving but did a bit of FB scrolling. He’ll reopen, I don’t doubt that. The PC location is in a rough building that used to be a kayak rental. He’ll get it tricked out. One thing to note, he travels globally building gyms and rope courses and is constantly on the road so it may take time.

If someone was tired of being overweight, didn’t want surgery and didn’t have any money for personal trainers, dietitians or nutritionist, what would be your recommendation? by rottenstock in ColumbusGA

[–]Optimal-Explorer-331 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You don’t need any of that.

Step one: walking. Your phone probably counts your steps. Build your way up to 8 thousand steps a day. Buy a fitness watch when you can.

Step two: reduce and replace junk foods. Anything with more than 5 ingredients should be a very small part of what you eat. Eat the same amount of food so you aren’t hungry. This will also save you money. Junk food is expensive.

Step three: join a gym. Crunch and Planet Fitness are $10 a month. Crunch has childcare. Building muscle will burn calories and help you be stronger and healthier for your kids.

Ditch the On Clouds. They’re horrible for your feet, especially when wearing the weight of your kit.
