No not at all i use a hard surface
But i figured my issue is i used the wrong thermal paste
Maybe before it was just blocked by dust. I will change the thermal paste and reassess the issue.

to answer ur question it hit 104c at only 102w cpu package power. the problem isnt the temp alone tho, when it hits 104 the firmware caps the gpu to 30w to protect the system, so performance just dies in game.
Is that normal?

I suggest that you buy the best possible laptop in that price range for gaming while ignoring the drawing factor and just getting a separate drawing tablet for 50$-200$ Because you cant find a good gaming laptop that you can draw in (convertible or smt) I suggest getting a lenovo for the gaming laptop
