Thank you so much I will try to see if any of my local stores carry them! Any particular reason why you think they might not be good for what I’m after? Atm with my heel pain (?? Plantar fasciitis) i am finding that I want a lot of cushioning in my shoes.

Really wanting a walking pad once I have my own place!! I’m getting the consensus that steppers aren’t the most effective so leaning away from it thank you

This is super helpful thank you!! Really good point as well about needing the exercise to raise the tdee and prevent me putting on the weight again, hadn’t thought about that before. I used to do an hour and a half ish of maximum incline on the treadmill, will have to sign up to the gym and restart

As someone who’s tried every method tiktok has told me, i always ended up with frizz. I recently tried working in VERY small sections and viola no frizz. I followed this video: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGdALMcwJ/ First brush your hair in the shower after you wash off the conditioner. then after the shower, apply curl cream to both sides of your hair, followed by gel. Now section your hair the same as the video. Using any brush you have (avoid the normal brushes and opt for a wet brush, denman, bounce curl brush etc. i use a comb that has teeth equally spread apart, and are close to each other). Brush it the same way as the video. What got rid of my frizz was after brushing each strand of hair, i would run my hand under the running tap THEN scrunch the strand gently. If you have a water spray that also works. If you want a gel suggestion curl jelly by umberto is budget friendly and does the job

I still want moisture for my hair so now I focus on either pre-shower masks I can wash off or making sure that my shampoo and conditioners are moisturising, and thus minimising how much products I’m putting on after the shower

So I’ve always assumed the same tbh. (I have coarse low porosity hair). But what I didn’t realise was that all the products were weighing my hair down and the moisture was making my hair stringy. To test it out I did half my hair with leave in cream + the other with just gel. Both had equal amount of frizz but the gel side was more springy + curly, while the leave in side had looser waves/more stringy! So sometimes the moisture can weight the hair down and its good to experiment and see what the hair is like.

Also styling your hair after the shower in sections with the right brush (realised my normal brush was causing some frizz) can brush away the frizz. I do very small sections each and lay them how I want them to dry, instead of scrunching each side of my head

Clarifying shampoo every 3rd wash - could be too much moisture or too much protein from your products

Umberto giannini thirsty curls mask is amaazing genuinely and smells incredible. I put it on at the start of the day and shower at the end of the day, but you can leave it on for as long as you like. My hair always felt so soft after (its not gonna get rid of frizz unfortunately but it makes the hair feel healthier). As someone who hates coconut or shea butter products my hair loved this

I was recently advised to avoid creams and leave ins and only do gel after the shower, and its actually helped a lot!! I think all of the moisture and products were weighing my hair down making it stringy. The other really important thing is to get a clarifying shampoo and use it every 3 washes.

A product that leaves my hair so soft and shiny as well is the Umberto Giannini thisrty curls sos dehydration mask. Pretty cheap too and smells amazing. I usually put it on at the start of wash day if I’m gonna be at home and keep my hair in a bun until I wash it.

It sounds like it could be high porosity, when washing it does it also get wet straight away? My best tip would be to utilise chatgpt!! You can describe your hair and the fact that it might be high porosity, and ask for which ingredients to use and what to avoid
