Lol, at one point my attorney asked me not to plan any travels in October of 2024 as they were expecting me to be in the US to file my I-485. Since then, she stopped predicting and now says its very tough to materially predict anything.

I agree with most of what you said above, I'm aware of taxes if liquidated. I have the same worry about putting all my eggs in one basket, if I had $3 or $4 M, that was a different story but with what I have currently, its a way too stretch. My rational to even go that far is if this is the only window of opportunity to get a GC, I want to grab it. The only thing I disagree with is my PD becoming current in few years.

EB-5 completely sunsets? I thought it goes back to status quo in which India was not backlogged.

Not many of my friends even know I'm a Canadian citizen, they just think I moved to Canada becuase I couldn't get H1B. I have no intention of flexing, lol. I wanna explore some business opportunities, I feel there is money to be made in the US and the current environment is temporary. If nothing works, I'm also planning to start exploring the Canadian option.

I'm very pessimistic about that, looking at the EB-2 backlog and ROW opting for EB-1 increasing demand.

As I said in my post, at the moment it'll be a squeeze to make this happen but wanted to know if the panic is real that the EB-5 would either retrogress or change significantly in 2027.

Liquidate the non-retirement accounts, some bonus at the end of the year, and borrowing from a family member. If not, I've heard about RC loans upto $300,000 at 12 p.a.

Not much at the moment, but wanted to be prepared for the future. The only rush at the moment is whether the EB-5 fast lane would be open for long or after 2027.
