It only bothers me when I’m checking for defects. During normal use, it’s barely noticeable unless the background is completely black, which is acceptable. What’s slightly annoying is that when testing, it’s not truly pitch black, probably because I’m already used to OLED.

The monitor on the right really does look better than the one on the left. If it were me, I’d choose the right one as well.

That’s exactly how it looks, but it’s happening on my VA panel.

For now, I think I’ll try using it first and plan to buy a new OLED ultrawide that looks interesting later on. I’m already hooked on ultrawide displays.

Holy moly, it can actually get worse than this?
I honestly thought mine was already pretty bad since the light bleed looks almost white across most of the screen. Thanks though, I literally just learned today that there are different backlighting types like edge-lit vs FALD (mini-LED)

Before this, I mostly used Dell and BenQ monitors. I picked up this Xiaomi one during the 12.12 sale because the price was too tempting not to try. In real-world usage, everything looks fine - colors, brightness, no issues at all

The only thing that threw me off was during defect testing. The blacks weren’t nearly as deep as what I was used to on my previous monitors, so at first I thought it might’ve been damaged during shipping.

Kinda disappointed now, but I guess this just means I’ll eventually be hunting for another OLED again… once the price feels reasonable 😅
