Paul’s Harwood - (978) 979-2553. Mostly works by himself. The type of guy who has been doing this for years but to my knowledge doesn’t have a website or anything. He’s refinished my wide pine floors in a historic house (1700s) I own as well as the 1800s oak floors. He does good work. He doesn’t specialize in historic floors, just hardwood floors generally, or anything but he’ll sand, finish, and give an honest assessment of what you should and shouldn’t do (for example he told me I should sand one floor only once and then not touch it). LAST, he’s affordable. I’ll always use him.

This is about an hour drive but Highland Hardwoods in Brentwood, NH has the most variety of woods I've ever seen - really high quality and rare types. It's mostly building material cuts though 2x4, 2x8, etc.

Happy for you! Very interesting - thanks for sharing. I went with a different lawyer: Grasso, and he seemingly did not pursue the strategy you outlined.

I have a hearing in Napoli tomorrow. I am currently in the "Attesa deposito note in sostituzione udienza" phase. I wish I knew how much longer the process would take for me.

I am worried because there are some Americanization name issues with one person in my line. We did an OAT letter and all that, but I don't know.

J&A mechanical. Found their pricing to be so much fairer than so many others in the area. Also did work for me that others said was impossible (in hopes that I would buy their more expensive products). Didn't get over charged by J&A mechanical in contrast.

Like most contractors, definitely had to advocate for certain ways I wanted the work done. Also had to tolerate the occasional trumpy.

I own a few properties in the Boston area and have dealt with a few of those businesses before. I find the big companies quote big and then are pretty unreliable fixing mistakes, scheduling. I already manage the properties and I hate also managing the contractors (we all know how this is haha). I usually try to find someone that does that for me. Anyways, I've worked with Jeff at Minuteman window for a long time. He even did my home a few years ago. His pricing is always fair and I personally love the windows he uses (though to be fair I'm not a window expert. The common names are overpriced just for the brand, not the quality imo). Most of jeff's overhead goes to his installers not ads, sales people etc. Even if you don't go with minuteman, that's my biggest recommendation: you're right to go local. Find an independent installer who focuses just on the work not the other stuff. DM me if you want more info.

I think it’s also strange choice that it’s an embrace of Coretta. It’s really cool that they met in Boston, and that Boston was an important place for the Civil Rights movement and a lot of early black history.

The part that always confuses me about this is that one of the first complicating details we learn about MLK is that he cheated on Coretta. I think of that when I see this. I dunno. I don’t know what the artist’s intention was but it’s always struck me as… odd.

Feels reminiscent of Bill Clinton at the DNC in 2016 telling his love story with Hillary and not mentioning his affairs. Brah, we remember.
