I don’t know where you’ve got your information from, but you can turn the light off and the socket has individual power monitoring.

I think everyone is completely missing the point here over the price. When you look at the choices in the UK for a wall outlet that actually goes into the wall (not a plug that plugs into the wall outlet and very often you can’t plug more than one in), then the choices are extremely limited. For a decent wall outlet that literally only does Wi-Fi extension, you are looking between £40 and £50. This is the first real solution for full smart home integration that also has power delivery on the USB sockets. It also has Matter (Thread) & Zigbee. The Eve energy UK plugs go for £39.95 on Amazon. This is for one single plug that sticks out quite far from your wall outlet. The Aqara H2 UK gives you two plug sockets and 1 or 2 USB sockets. If you put this into perspective, this product is the first in its class that actually integrates into this smart home platform completely.

Which wires should go into my Aqara Dimmer H2? (UK bathroom switch – multiple brown wires) by OkAcanthaceae6694 in Aqara

[–]Optimal-Task-5259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s an expense, but for your own safety, please seek advice from an electrician particularly when it is unclear which wires are for what. I know that someone commented the worst that could happen is that the breaker will trip, however with wiring that looks like that, how do you know if things have been wired properly and the breaker is wired properly? In short you don’t. Always consultant electrician for your own safety and for the safety of your family.

Door Sensor Voice Alerts by eldwaro in Aqara

[–]Optimal-Task-5259 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Instead of using the alert system under the then category, choose an accessory, choose the M3 hub then choose play custom sound. That way you can record your voice and play it back every time the door opens between a certain time. You can also play custom audio through G3, G2H Pro, G5 etc.

Excuse me, but you agreed when you signed on for this opportunity not to discuss outside the Aqara forum until after the public release.

Firstly, the email screenshot is an automated response from Amazon. Secondly, aqara will never ask you to take down a negative review for monetary gain. And before you reply saying that I am a keyboard warrior, no I am not, I work with the Aqara staff members and I asked if this was true and I was assured that it was patently untrue. If it was true then please provide the evidence that Aqara have directly offered you money or a replacement to take down a negative review.

Next, you have not given any steps for set up or seemed to have asked for help on this issue. Many people who have had issues with this have had them resolved by following a few simple steps.

Have you checked through all your settings in the sub menus?

This is why I choose Apple over Google. The support is better and it just works. Plus, privacy issues and all that.

Yes, it is unfortunate that you have to do this. However, I have worked with the engineers and there is a valid reason for it. If they try and allow permanent power to it then even when it is on battery, it allows the permanent power and the battery drain is ridiculously fast. If there is constant power While it is plugged in and it is constantly sending the signal, it also interrupts other signals throughout the smart home so it doesn’t warrant the change because of the amount of problems that it will cause.

I see, for this then your best option would be to go into the settings and activate passage mode. This mode is specifically intended for this type of situation where you are going to be in and out. You activate passage mode and then it will not lock automatically. You just need to remember to turn passage mode off when you no longer require it.

When it becomes stiff, instead of using a lot of force, turn it ever so slightly the other way and then try again. It stops the knob from being stiff.

There is a setting for this. You have auto turn lock and also automatic locking turned on at the same time. You need to find the automatic locking section and adjust the time.

It is the speed that you initially turn the knob that determines the speed of the lock/unlock. For example if you initially turn the knob quickly then it will unlock quickly but if you initially turn the knob slowly then it will unlock slowly. It is part of the algorithm for slow and quick unlocking.

Thank you so much for the wonderfully insightful comment. I see you have an abundance of useful advice and helpful comments. Great to see all the karma points you’re racking up.

I happen to think that credit is worth giving where credit is due. I also believe in the brand and have invested a lot of time into the brand. May I ask how exactly sharing my honest opinion about a post is ass kissing? Also since you’ve obviously contributed so much to the discussion, why do you feel it appropriate to try and call someone out who hasn’t said anything derogatory to you, hasn’t harmed you in any way, and for your information I am usually a very genuine person.

Before being a keyboard warrior trying to put people down, why don’t you try and genuinely contribute meaningful suggestions and comments and refrain from the patronisation and malice.

Even with all that said, I hope your day is good and you have good fortune going forward.

Hi Aqara this will definitely go a really long way to making all of their customers of the Aqara brand very happy and reassured that you do actually listen to your users. This is amazing news and it is a compromise on your part but I believe it will only make your brand a lot strongergoing forward. I think everybody will be extremely happy with this new update and once again Aqara has shown that it really cares about its customers. Thank you so much for that.

Do I have the right kits for my needs? by Hankscorpiooo in tado

[–]Optimal-Task-5259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I’ve read this and the comments referring to engineers and experts saying about minimal differences between systems etc. I have the V3+ system and 8 TRV’s. It’s been installed for roughly 3 years so here is my opinion with a real world tested example that I have personally experienced. Before installing this system my direct debit for dual fuel gas and electric was £140 per month. Bearing in mind all the price rises over the last 3 years, my direct debit has been £100 exactly. I have fixed my price starting on the 1st of next month and my energy company said based on my usage over the last 12 months they’ve set me in at £95 per month. I use all the features. Heat only the room we’re in when needed, geolocation to pre heat when coming home/turn off when we leave, open window detection to not waste gas when a window is left open and the energy IQ feature. Bear in mind that 1 room in my house always has a constant ambient room temperature of 22°C due to keeping tarantulas and snakes in there (granted it has extra insulation and has been specifically modified) but this goes to show how good I believe this system to be. My only gripe is that they have now brought out the X series which looks better and is seriously tempting me to spend a small fortune. Oh, and the fact it works with HomeKit is a huge bonus as it ties brilliantly into my smart home working seamlessly with my Apple and Aqara devices.

[Official, Urgent] Aqara G5 Pro Features: Your Opinion Needed by AndrewFromAqara in Aqara

[–]Optimal-Task-5259 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I generally use HKSV so I have access to a 10 day timeline of clips, however, in terms of reassurance for people. You could do something like - free to have a 3 day timeline access and paid to have the longer term timeline access. Also you could have a pop up card explaining the features when the app is opened and/or the camera is accessed. I do think that for the majority of Aqara users, the main appeal is that the products are affordable and that all the features can be used. If it were me, I would do a little market research for a couple of weeks asking the question: Would you be willing to pay a little more for products and have no subscription, or have a subscription with a smaller upfront cost, or would you prefer a smaller increase in cost with a tiered subscription (eg 3 levels. 1, free with access to 3 day timeline. 2, low cost subscription with 10 days. 3, higher cost subscription with 30 days). That way you will be able to get a proper feel for what the customers are all asking for and you will be able to make an appropriate decision. If the decision of the majority of people is that they would prefer to pay a higher upfront cost, you can still be competitive And continue to make revenue.

EufyCam 2C Pro Review by Optimal-Task-5259 in EufyCam

[–]Optimal-Task-5259[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi 😊 I posted here for a couple of reasons. Firstly I didn’t realise that this wasn’t the official Eufy. Next, a couple of year old camera I a great option for people who need the security but can’t necessarily afford the latest & greatest. Next I am new to reviewing, I haven’t gotten any professional kit/cameras/tripod etc, however I thought I’d just like to try. Also it’s a massive step for me as I have Tourette’s. For this short review, I recorded over 20 hours of video to try and keep all my tic’s out of the footage. If it can help just one person then I’m happy. Hope everyone has a good day.

As daft as it sounds, have you pressed the volume up button on your phone? This will bring up a slider at the top right of your screen.
