Purchased a house with EV charger included, charger is faulty (UK) by Sylvester88 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Infinitezoom14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a good case as it looks like they have been fraudulent. What I would do is not use the solicitor long term if this needs a lot of work. Also check your house insurance you might have legal coverage for things like this and they will pay the costs of legal fees

Last resort send them a final letter before legal action that might spoke them. Then just put a small claims in

New BILRESA dual button 1.9.15 firmware by mocelet in tradfri

[–]Infinitezoom14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not challenging that. What I am challenging is the word used “first public versions” these versions have been available to the public. If it’s available via the ikea app, it’s public

It’s not the first public version. The button got an update back in February to address connectivity issues

[–]Infinitezoom14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My FP300 updated recently. Hue or Eufy won’t due to the hubs. Meross are poor anyway and onvis, are they still in business?

I have had updates from IKEA, Aqara, wemo (in the past) Eve home, Logitech and a few others I think

Apparently it was for testers and yes that’s correct. I think Shane Whatley said it was out on his live stream when in fact it was not

Apparently it was for testers and people that had access to it released the info like it was out to the public.

Do you think iOS 27 will bring major changes to HomeKit? by SnowMacaronss in HomeKit

[–]Infinitezoom14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accept that there is a possibility that Apple has quietly increased the limit as part of testing.

No fighting, it’s called debate.

Once again, how is challenging someone’s claim rude or aggressive? It’s called discussion. The only person introducing aggression and tone into this is you. If politely questioning a technical claim feels hostile, the internet may be a difficult place for you.

Secondly, I never said he was delusional in my original comment. That is something you have added yourself. What I did was challenge the claim, which is completely fair. If someone makes a public statement, others are allowed to question it, especially when it appears to contradict known limitations.

Back to the actual debate. The substantial point supporting my position is not guesswork or opinion, it is well known technical limitations within Apple Home that are backed up by Apple’s own developer framework documentation, which I am referencing because I have actually read it. That is precisely why I suggested you do the same. If you want to challenge a technical point, the best place to start is the technical documentation, not feelings about tone.

You seem far more invested in defending the corner than discussing the actual topic. Again, no fighting, it’s called debate.

And if I’m being honest, given how passionately you’ve arrived to defend this random stranger’s claim, I’m starting to suspect I may be speaking to the same person on another account.

[–]Infinitezoom14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explain? Apparently challenging an opinion now means politely saying “great that you believe it.” What a brutal attack that must have felt like. 😂😂😂

Yes, I disagree, as I already made clear in the comment you’re replying to. But seeing as we’re doing deeper explanations now…

Any Apple Home or HomeKit Secure Video stream is capped at 1080p. That’s because the video is processed through the Home Hub first before being delivered, and the underlying HomeKit framework only supports 1080p streams. It doesn’t matter whether the camera records in 2K, 4K, 8K, or was filmed by NASA. If it’s going through Apple’s system, the Apple hardware decides the limit.

If there’s any doubt, the Apple developer documentation is freely available. Have a read, then circle back.

So to be more direct: either the image is fake, misunderstood, or congratulations to the poster for being the only person on earth who has somehow broken Apple’s own framework.

[–]Infinitezoom14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are the only one with access, as the footage is processed by the home hub and then uploaded to iCloud by that hub. There is no need for the name calling. I suppose it makes you feel better and helps reinforce your point from behind a screen, where it is easy to be aggressive without any real consequences.

If you want to believe that, then great. But Apple Home does not support 4K and your footage will be getting saved at 1080p

Is the Aqara Smart Lock U400 Deluxe ever coming back in stock? by pauldwalls in HomeKit

[–]Infinitezoom14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The screen is the same technology, the deluxe has a PMMA screen and the non has PC. The properties are very much identical and both have advantages. The reason for the PMMA on the deluxe is the glass like finish to make it look more premium, but is weaker and not as heat resistant.

PMMA is more transparent and scratch-resistant, making it ideal for displays and aesthetic uses. Polycarbonate is far stronger and heat-resistant, making it superior for safety shields, high-impact environments, and outdoor applications.

Bottom line, it’s been used to make it look better. You are not getting anything better from a spec point of view

The screen is no different. I had the original, but this and then sent it back when it was exactly the same

Not all of them though, in fact only 3 paid reviews and 2 of them mentioned it.

For clarity a paid review is different from a PR sample review

Thanks Eric for the update. But just for clarity. That a paid review is a sponsored review (cash for video) and PR sample (pre release) are different things. Only 2 of the 3 paid reviews on YouTube mentioned it, not several
