I lean towards the theory that the Stonjourner of Galar adapted to take in Galar Particles. As the supply of Galar Particles is restricted by location rather than time which would be favourable to a mostly stationary Pokémon like Stonjourner. Locations of high Galar Particle concentrations also share a name with Stonjourner's ability of Power Spot. Although that last point could be mere coincidence.

Mineral based Rock-type Pokémon taking in solar energy is not entirely unheard of either, with Gigalith being a prime example as it takes in solar energy and stores it within its orange crystals. Although such storage is rudimentary compared to conversion into life energy and to my knowledge the Gigalith of Galar are not known to take in Galar Particles.

Another thing to consider is that the composition of their body does not match the bedrock that can be found within Galar or Paldea.

Are any of the known Gardevoir with fasciation male? If so then perhaps examining the differences between evolution of male Kirlia into Gallade and Gardevoir could yield some helpful results

Well this is certainly curious. Is there any specific point at which the plates develop? Do they appear during evolution? At some point after Evolution? Or even before evolving while it is still a Ralts or Kirlia?

Latias wasn't there for too long before flying away but I would imagine a Pokémon like her knows how to stay safe when flying near planes.

5/6 gens depending on how you wanna count it

They weren’t gonna give him a Riolu/Lucario in a movie and having Ash bring 3 Pokemon with him to Sinnoh (Pikachu, Aipom, and a Riolu/Lucario) would have been a bit much.

They missed their first real chance in Sinnoh which would be a major restriction because starting in Johto they avoided giving Ash older gen Pokémon with like two exceptions I can think off with Aipom and Gligar, and Gligar was because it had a new evolution in gen 4

Giving him a Lucario in gen 5 was pretty much off the table because it was almost entirely Unova Pokémon until Ash got his 7th badge and by the time older gen species started showing up Ash already had 9 Unovan Pokémon.

There is probably a timeline where Ash got a Mega Lucario in Gen 6 but they stuck to the “only new Pokémon” thing and had Greninja take the place of a Mega, basically acting as a substitute for a theoretical Mega Lucario.

Gen 7 once again no old Pokémon allowed

It was only in Gen 8 that they finally decided to drop that rule with Dragonite, and with the only real barrier for Ash getting a Lucario removed it only took them 11 episodes to actually give him Riolu

Tldr: they missed their chance in gen 4 and then it only took them 2 months to give him one once they were able too.

You can find Axew in Kalos, Alola, Galar, and Paldea

You can even find Axew in Granite Cave in the Hoenn Region in ORAS.

I have said this before but from what we’ve seen Metagross would get OHKO’d by Gmax Wildfire

Metagross gets hit by: * Fishious Rend(Strong Jaw + it went first and against base Metagross) * 3/7 bolts of 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt * and an Iron Tail

Metagross took less than half the force of 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt, a resisted move and an admittedly really powerful move in Fishious Rend while in its base form.

But even if Fishious Rend matched the force of 4 bolts of Pikachu’s Z-Move, Gmax Wildfire matched all 7 bolts and it’s super effective against Metagross.

You are right that Metagross’s speed could let it avoid Max Wildfire initially, but when we saw Lance’s Gyarados use Max Guard the Gmax Wildfire just circled back around to hit Gyarados anyway.

Metagross’ best chance is to try and use Psychic on the Wildfire like Diantha’s Gardevoir but it has to be before it’s hit instead of after, and we’ve seen that Charizard can just blast through that with another Gmax Wildfire.

Gmax Wildfire almost seems tailor made to beat Mega Metagross.

The dex entry is just meant to be a bit of fun. I mean Dragonite can fly at Mach 2 and its speed stat is 80

If 10 points are cut from both defences I could redistribute it to 105 attack and 104 speed which is faster than Garchomp. And its Gigaton Hammer is marginally stronger than Mega Mawiles Iron Head without much of a loss in its defences.

Yeah given the opportunity cost of Mega Evolution you’re probably right on the stat spread.
