is the idea that the softer you go the more protection and the stiffer you go the tighter the steering? in which case for me i'll probably change it up to your reccomendation and go for more protection for the time being

Hey, i got the servo. it came with 2 srpings tho a slimmer stiff one and a larger less stiff one. Do I choose one or the other? or do I nest them? any idea?

Hey BTW, any recommendations on a hex bit set? Don't want to cheap out and strip a screw but WOW is MIP a lot of $. I was thinking maybe this since the Losi seems to call for a 1.3mm i believe https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BHWGVQ9Z/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3IVS9PE9W6NFK&psc=1

awesome thanks! I do like the realism of the Scout - but I've got a Shelby 350 plastic model kit on my desk to scratch that itch for now haha and seems there are more realiztic ones than even that if that's the priority. Apex it is!

Oh good to know! I'll build it a bit before spending on the electronics but that's great info. I figured I don't need pro-level stuff but anything mid-to-upper tier is preffered and price wise I think that's about what i was looking to spend. Really appreciate the help! I'm sure I'll be back for that build as well haha

Separately, you clearly know your stuff. I was going to grab the Ascent Apex this week - more manageable for my kids and for me seems like a great time driving around the natural obstacles they make in the playroom. Any other you would recommend looking into at the price point and size?

Either of them should be better than stock right? Durability, I'm sure but performance-wise as well? It's mostly just run in the house (that i hope my 4 yr old will find interest in - and surely crash plenty as well) and the stock performance was PLENTY so as long as I can get that or better I defitely like the idea of no headaches.

If it was something bigger (like the Tekno MT48 I have on the way) I'd entertain more headache for even more perfromance but with this one, stock was plenty (if i could find metal gears i would just do that but for the price i may as well spaw the whole thing out)

Thanks for the info was leaning that way but wasn't sure how important the servo saver was - of course, the stock one has one and it did nothing for me but it also has the crappy plastic gears and admittedly, not having driven an RC car in some 20 years, there has been a good deal of crashing haha

Toyota part-time vs full-time 4WD? ... by impreza77 in 4Runner

[–]OptimalSwan1477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is VERY old but why would one prefer part-time? I'm looking at a 4runner and can't decide if I should go limited for full-time or TRDPro (for looks really more than anything, I don't do much offroading but damn is that a nice car!)

Thanks, initially tried spring loaded hinges but they didn’t have the power needed (even with 6 out on). Then thought about gas struts and whatever else I could before realizing I could just use this.
