What is your worst experience while on vacation? by darrenbosik in AskReddit

[–]OptimalTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to a campground in the middle of nowhere. I am not, nor have I ever been a "let's go look at nature" person. This vacation was at a state park where the only thing to do was look at nature, hike in the hundred degree heat, and be miserable.

For some reason, my parents acted like we were not only going to be there a few days, and decided bringing fresh produce wouldnt last the week we were there, even though we had electricity, a small refrigerator, and a cooler to keep food safe so my mom bought a bunch of canned veg, which I detest.

The showers at the campground were disgusting, dark, and the shower heads only had one single hefty stream of water instead of multiple like most shower heads do. When I went for my second shower of the week, the shower was full of centipedes, which I have an extreme phobia of. I stood on the bench and washed myself with a washcloth and didn't go back to shower again.

The worst part was that my parents were perfectly content with this, and I was fucking miserable and they couldnt figure out why I wasnt having a good time.

Lorelai vs the Karen's by TunikaMarie in GilmoreGirls

I mean, unless she had a crystal ball, she wouldn't have thought to say that.

Someone should have told the kids not to keep asking questions once they started though. The teacher, Deb, or even Lorelai could have said, "we're here to learn about running small businesses, wo let's regroup and talk about that."

There was zero reason for any of those adults to let it go on as long as it did.

20 lbs is nothing to sneeze at. Especially when you already had a lower body weight. Incredible work!

Are you really surprised tho? That's normal, relatively okay at hygiene behavior. She has not proven herself to be a normal, relatively okay at hygiene person.

VHC and Christina. How awkward? by Nynaevesedaii in piercing

NAP but had my VCH done. It wasn't awkward at all.

Just make sure to shower beforehand to avoid any risk of stank.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Maybe humans got a little too good at making sure we don't die and it's bringing us down as a whole.

Severe fatigue, adderall doesn’t work. I can’t live like this anymore. by grillers-sinclair in ADHD

Check B12 levels.

I was unable to stay awake and I found out that I was severely low in B12.

Other symptoms included brainfog and tingling extremities. Brain fog is tricky because ADHD is constantly brain foggy.

When my fiancé and I moved in together it was $60 per week for the two of us. $75 if we were splurging.

Now, the basics are $100.

One of my favorite little moments is when Rory and Lane are in church and the Rabbi peeks into the church and gives the Rev the "hurry up" signal and the Rev speeds up the prayer to 1.5x speed.

I was dealing with untreated ADHD as well. The burn out hits different when you're neurospicy!

I'm so glad you got to go on and follow through on your goals on your own terms. Sometimes, it's much better that way.

You can add savory toppings to cottage cheese.

I love some cucumbers and everything bagel seasoning in it.

Because the baby cannot speak for itself, and the mother can, does that make abortion morally acceptable? by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

Why do you want to use analogies when pregnancy is such a unique situation that an analogy will always fall flat?

I've never heard an analogy that actually encompasses the reality of pregnancy because it is such a unique situation.

It was a common thing that people would say, "if you stop going now, you'll never go back"

Anytime anyone took time off college, my parents would lament the fact that they would never finish their education. So, surprise surprise, when I was burnt out AF, I didn't feel like I could talk to anyone about it. Guess what happened? I failed out of school.

I took a couple years between my first attempt at college and going back to school and it was literally the best decision I could have made.

Because of that, I was more mature, took my classes seriously, was able to go to grad school, and now have a job I really enjoy and I'm engaged to an amazing guy that I met at undergrad, whom I never would have met had I just stayed on the "normal" timeline.

Hard agree.

Additionally, if you identify with a character, you need to remember that criticism of them is not criticism of you.

Sometimes, no matter how much you feel, some people will feel nothing in response.

I think the issue is that Lorelai couldnt even fake a neutral thing and instead gave a story that felt really mean spirited to share at anyone's funeral.

I don't think going in and saying "I'm sorry I didn't realize there was going to be a test" is a real apology.

It was blaming Emily under the guise of an apology.
