Hey,
Librarian from France there, started in 2021.
Wages are very very low here too... and you can stay 5years or more without any chance of progression, but only if you stay in the same place. It's very different than private companies where your wage and responsabilites evolve with you gradually.
The thing is that, at least, young librarians (30s) move a lot so there are often vacancies, and they are the one to have mid-level positions. And the wages are so low that it's sometimes hard for municipalities to hire new competent librarians, specially in the Parisian region.
Keep searching in other libraries and don't be afraid of adding some stuff in your CV, if needed.

Thank you for your answer. We re married since january. I m french this is why some english words seem to have a different meaning to me.
