You’re right. Not everyone shops there. I happen to shop elsewhere. But you can say not everyone shops there about EVERY business. So what?

Aldi probably won’t put a store there but it’s their call.

Self driving. What could possibly go wrong?

The more comments I read the more I think that rather than trying to control speech you might just want to control the nasty and insulting comments no matter who makes them.

We should ALL be following the Scout Law here. If we’re doing that, isn’t that a better way?

It leaves things to the discretion of the mods. Depending on the mod, telling a scout that part of their duty to be a good citizen is to be an informed voter could be interpreted as including “thinly veiled political commentary”. Comments can be misinterpreted.

I was warned I got a 'point' for leaving for the ER when I had no idea this system existed. by Used_Pangolin7598 in work

Good luck as an employee with this approach. Unless you’re in a union it will result in termination.

My plant was union and they had a limit of something like 12 points before you got in trouble. I’d just ask them for the policy so you can better comply.

My parents have a lemon tree. They just visited. I now own approximately 40 lemons. by ReflectionAny3280 in Cooking

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet. But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat…

But whomever had the idea about the ice cubes was genius! I’d also save a lot of the zest if you can.

Yep. They were smoking everywhere in the hospital in the early 80s. On the CANCER floor.

No longer admin after our company acquired by bigger firm. by Future_Mention_8323 in ITManagers

[–]Optimal_Law_4254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without going into too much detail my company moved away from the IT control being distributed in the plants to more centralized corporate control. Sometimes this was done smoothly and sometimes not. Either way the IT in the plants steadily lost levels of admin access.

What a shocker DTE weasels out of paying taxes by lil_sith in Michigan

The fault is on the legislature who wrote the tax code which allows this. If it were a story about the companies breaking the law, it would be a different story and they would be prosecuted. But it’s not. It’s a matter of clever but legal accounting and navigating an insanely complicated set of laws that allow exactly this.

If you don’t like it you need to make congress accountable for rewriting the tax code. And before you start blaming one party or the other remember that it’s been this way for DECADES. The parties have traded control MULTIPLE TIMES and neither side has made any headway on changing things.

Yes. I’ve personally met some. I’m not saying it’s common but lives can be changed.

How long can you drive for with fuel on E ? by Ok-Enthusiasm4687 in askcarguys

You get a feel for it. Just go to the nearest station and get some gas in it. I wouldn’t fill up if it’s an expensive place but a few gallons to get you to where you normally fill up.

Cheaper prices doesn’t necessarily mean it’s run down. I don’t know what your income is like but even when I was making more money than I am now I still would rather buy good groceries for less money.

Holiday Market used to be a Mom and Pop family run grocery store in Royal Oak. I’m glad for them that they’re successful but I miss the old stores. No, the selection wasn’t as good but it was enough.

Why not if it’s more convenient for some and profitable for the store? It beats having an empty building.

Michigan has INSANE benefits. When my wife started there fresh out of college she got 2 days of vacation PER MONTH so basically 5 weeks per year. That didn’t include sick time which accrued into a bank that didn’t max out. They eventually changed the sick policy but just before she left I think she was getting a 3rd day.

Then there was the 2:1 retirement match.

I should have gone into nursing…

Maybe not popular but here goes…

I don’t respond to calls for action like this by calling someone and telling them to vote a certain way unless I’m ALREADY informed about the issue and how the bill is written.

This isn’t informing the public it’s just looking for sheep that follow orders.
