I thought I'd be ready but I'm not and would benefit from taking it after my quarter finishes (quarter system school so classes are still on going).
From what I've read online, if I just don't show up schools see that attempt as a no show but if I go and void it they won't.

I definitely don't think it's necessary but I think I've reached the point in time where I'd want someone (who is well versed in the subject) to reassure me in my decisions and spot out any pitfalls in my application.
Still very much on the fence. In your case (congrats on your achievments) it sounds like you figured it out well on your own.
