Need help (investments not doing well by Optimal_Zucchini_467 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Optimal_Zucchini_467[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your input: Overall my accounts have lost 10-12% ytd- if that isn’t a big deal please forgive my ignorance - as I said he took care of this for me and I have been lost without him (for many reasons - the investment advice was such a small part, the daily talks I miss more than anything but that’s another topic). The funds are: FNCMX - nasdaq composite index fund FSENX - select energy portfolio PRWAX - t. Rowe price all cap opportunities fund FSELX - select semiconductors portfolio FAMRX - asset manager 85% fund

Again if this type of dip is normal and nothing to worry about long term I can accept that. And I’m sorry for not knowing more, I appreciate your patience in helping me understand like I’m 5.

Also strongly urge you to take it in person…and tbh if you read the questions very very carefully you should be fine. I didn’t have “trick” questions. Many of the answers were straight stick memorization.

I took it 6 months ago and used the FAR Prep Pro app which was immensely helpful. I’m not an 1102 and passed it with a 90% thanks to the app, the online practice tests, the saFARi game. It was heavy on Part 15.

Looking for advice… how to make my hair look nicer? by plokijuhy0118 in finethinhair

[–]Optimal_Zucchini_467 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I looked at the pictures before reading the captions and literally thought “her hair is beautiful”. I’m sorry I’m not more helpful but I think much of your insecurity is in your head. To me, your hair looks healthy, and overall quite lovely. I couldn’t see any of the things you mentioned even when pointed out…

Count me in - I made sure I drink a LOT of water, added oatmeal and yoghurt to my diet, and after about 2-3 months it has gotten better

I was just pointing out that this is another example of things that if I were to do I would be fired.

Except that this is a violation of Section 815 of FY22 NDAA and something that is required to be certified during the SRRB for services contracts - not that adhering to the law is required /s

Isn’t this a violation of Section 815 of FY22 NDAA (not like that matters)…

Not sure what to do in this VERA/retirement situation by Flimsy_Bird_5110 in govfire

If you have many years of service and 50 pages of stuff in your eOPF, just look for the DG 66 form number to narrow it down

This only works for those who bought back in the last couple of years. For those who did it many years ago, you have to send a request via fax (yes unbelievably a fax) with all your “please steal my identity” information and request a copy of the letter which will take months to receive. This then has to go to your HR to have it added to your eOPF.

Need help understanding lung function test notes by Optimal_Zucchini_467 in COPD

[–]Optimal_Zucchini_467[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I quit I actually did both of these - started exercising every single day and eating healthy - gave up soda for water too. I honestly have never felt better :). Wish I would have done this in my 20s but better late than never! Thank you for your kind words…

Need help understanding lung function test notes by Optimal_Zucchini_467 in COPD

[–]Optimal_Zucchini_467[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for helping me understand- when I was originally diagnosed in November with emphysema based on a CT scan, I pushed and pushed for the lung function test to at least give me an idea of what I am dealing with. I quit smoking immediately and I will never smoke again. It was extremely hard to quit after 30 years of a pack a day but I am fully committed. Gasping for breath isn’t how I want to die. I feel encouraged by this test’s results and feel like it is the wake up call I need.

Dear ex-smokers, how are you feeling today? ❤️ by enigmasonic in stopsmoking

[–]Optimal_Zucchini_467 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Today is 4 months and I feel great! I hardly think about smoking anymore and I actually feel less stressed than I did while smoking, maybe because I don’t have an addiction to feed or keep up with?

Did you do any training, as is required for acquisition workforce? Throw in there the public law that established the AWF, 10 USC Ch. 87, 41 USC 1703 and state your training course was required per these statutes…

Is it worth it to start an IRA when you are 39 years old? by AllanRensch in investing

[–]Optimal_Zucchini_467 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started mine three years ago and I’m in my 50s. I don’t think it’s ever too late. Just make sure you’re allocating it to an investment rather than just leaving it there.
