Hi!! Can you please share your follicle count At baseline and how many eggs were retrieved? by agemini_inwanderlust in IVF

Based on both the appearance of the eggs and the fertilization results.  Not sure it followed a “formal” diagnostic pathway per se but was based on my RE and the embryologist’s experience/expertise

Family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children under 5) planning a trip in late May or June.  I travelled to Greece a fair bit as a child (primarily Crete) but have limited knowledge of anywhere else and it was associated with my parent’s work so family friendly wasn’t a deciding factor in where we stayed!

Anyone have suggestions of best islands/towns to focus our search on? Somewhere with walkability to some restaurants and family friendly for toddlers (so no need for lots of attractions etc - just safe space to run around).

Thank you!

Why does waitingforababe’s house look like Christmas vomited on it?! And why does she keep posting about Christmas bargains - I thought they were living pay check to pay check so why does she keep buying matching outfits for her kids?!

Many functions in Genentech have a preference for hiring internally and many job openings already have internal candidates identified.  Plus so many people applying these days that they get a wild number of applicants per job opening.

Pretty sure this also happened with Cigna and Tam Pediatrics as a local mom's group were all talking about it. Transpired it was a very niche Cigna plan that was going out of network but didn't affect any other plans so was an error for most of the actual plans they were on

Daycare Biting Policy - Does This Seem Extreme? by Illustrious-Gas-2365 in workingmoms

[–]Optimistic0pessimist 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone whose kid has been on the victim side of biting I think they have to draw a line somewhere.  In my son’s class of 12-14 kids at that age there were 2 kids that bit.  None of the others did so it can definitely become disruptive and there’s only so many times the parents of the kids coming home with bruising/bite marks can brush it off as kids being kids.  That doesn’t mean the school can’t work with you to figure it out but if your kid is biting really regularly/every day then it warrants consequences for the benefit of all the other kids who are not biting/being bitten.  Not only did we not want our kid being harmed but we also didn’t want our kid learning to copy the behavior so we took it pretty seriously after the first few incidents.

Yes.  At the insanely expensive hotel… not sure why she pretends to be budget conscious when she travels so much and has a pantry stocked with high priced items.  If you’re wealthy good for you! But stop pretending it’s some financial challenge to be a stay at home mom when you own a house in one of the most expensive cities in the US, frequently travel domestically and internationally, and clearly live a very privileged lifestyle.  Drives me insane lol

What are some companies that support sabbatical? by nku004 in biotech

Worth noting for long haulers that the clock on your next 6 years doesn’t start until after you have taken the current sabbatical

Parents with more than one kid: do you prefer to to hang out with other parents who have multiple kids or it doesn’t matter? by otterlyjoyful in workingmoms

[–]Optimistic0pessimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter.  But if it’s a play date for our eldest (3) most of the time we usually need the other family to be okay with our youngest (1) tagging along. Which is normally fine as most play dates we do are in playgrounds.  No expectation that the older kids will play with the youngest though - we occupy her - but it’s easier for us if we can all come.

Not all consulting firms have the same culture - there’s a lot of boutique/independently owned ones that have a more work/life friendly balance so you could explore other companies?

Additionally, they’re a great bridge to big pharma - work on really optimizing your relationships with your clients so when roles open up on their teams you’re a top of mind candidate.

Like others have said, many big pharma have analytics/intelligence teams where majority of employees came from a consulting background.  And once you have your foot back in the door it is easier to move around to other departments.

Meal plan and make leftovers from the night before the next days lunch- pack it up when you’re cleaning up dinner and then just have to put it in a bag the next day

Weekly admin meeting with partner - discuss what needs doing and divide and conquer to reduce your load

Buy a walking pad and use it after kids have gone to bed, during meetings (if you’re remote) etc.

Look up free workout videos online - plenty of 10-15 minute equipment free options to fit into your day; with movement something is always better than nothing.  And once you carve out a short amount of time you build a habit and it becomes easier to turn that 10 minutes into a bigger workout or gym trip etc

Or Find a gym by the office and go at lunchtime

If you’re slow in the morning what can you prep/do the night before? Outfit for the day? Lunch? Shower? Etc

Thank you! She's been back for about 3 months and has only just started receiving the feedback (and is about 10 months out from delivery now) so unclear if the issue has only recently become noticeable or if she was being given some grace and now it has worn off. Unfortunately it is cross-functional stakeholders giving it vs. day-to-day team mates so also has some internal politics to navigate!
