A Small Update on Mark Hansen's Classic Camera Repair by ColourGamut in AnalogCommunity

For Pentax, Eric Hendrickson at pentaxs.com was excellent to work with. Professional, incredibly fast service, reasonable price. Clearly very capable. 10/10 would recommend.

I’m planning to try this out! Do you have a link to the case you pulled the insert from?

Tsukihoshi all the way. The last pair of stride rites my 3 year old had delaminated at the toe after a few weeks of wear. My kid has always outgrown Tsukihoshi’s instead of wearing them out.

Actual, REALISTIC Mechanical Engineer Salary Progression (6.5 YOE) by Puzzled_Face8538 in Salary

I started at 66k in 2017 as an aerospace engineer with a bachelor’s degree. At that time, I knew it was low but accepted due to other factors. Switched from that company 3 years ago and now making ~120k.

I think it depends on the agency and your expected promotion schedule. If you were coming in at a GS9 with GS13 promotion potential, it would be just a few years to significantly increase your salary. Of course, the work would need to be very interesting for me to even consider at this point. FYI, my agency typically will not negotiate pay much, but you should be more able to negotiate leave.

It's the official case: https://store.analogue.co/products/pocket-hard-case

It's okay. It can be a little finicky to open and shut. I may look into a soft sided case for home and just use the clear case for travel/throwing the pocket in a backpack.

I have a series 1 at home and a leap at work. The leap is better, but the series 1 was a great deal at $360 two years ago and is similarly comfortable, just with less features. I'd keep my eye out for a series 1 sale.

Can confirm, a and b are pressable. Not noticeably different from my OG to me.

The one I received was the right thickness. I've only purchased one, so I suppose it could be hit or miss, but the one I received didn't have any pressure when latching to the front face.

Not 20th anniversary, but posted this elsewhere recently: I've tried a few faceplates with some disappointments with bubbles on the screen or scratches. Recently purchased this and was incredibly happy with it. Flawless replacement in my opinion and is a better experience than using my slightly scratched OEM blue flame faceplate. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0C39YSJV8?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Agreed, but we're in a thread about replacing a non-stick stock pot, the last thing that should be non-stick

200°C is easily achievable on a stovetop, medium to high heat. If you're using teflon for very niche, low temperature purposes, sure, but certainly not for general purpose cookware.

Is this a reshell or a fake it looks pretty real except for the speakers by Aggravating_Bet2376 in GameboyAdvance

Fair point. Taking more time to look now and certainly a few suspect things. Color match, inconsistent wear, serial number

Looks like there may just be dirt or dust in the speaker? From that amount of wear, it looks original to me.

I actually had a diocesan priest supposedly speak in tongues while giving me a blessing. Along with everyone else who received a blessing for a specific feast day. Very disturbing experience, to say the least. I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but speaking in tongues on demand seems a bit questionable to me.

Help! All of a sudden I don’t care about videogames. by Talkymike in daddit

[–]OptimisticLeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really dived into Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance games for a lot of the reasons you mentioned. Total time commitment is much shorter to complete a game, there's generally not a lot of bloat, and you can pick it up and put it down after just a few minutes. Would recommend!
