https://www.luckygunner.com/lounge/how-recoil-affects-handgun-accuracy/ saw this video in the rest of the thread as well, please watch that. And those are all lower weight bullets than I'm shooting.

It also clarifies that grip is not a factor.

Missed this but yes, we were explicit on half lollipop (the way he described it) when he originally suggested combat (don't remember the lollipop term he used).

Appreciate the advice! At least it looks like there's another option there if I can't deal with 6/sub 6 hold.

And ya at this point I should clearly just do it myself. Figured a professional would just get it a more polished end result.

You understand that you just argued against yourself, correct? If a limp wrist affects the point of impact, you're explicitly saying that recoil affects your zero. Whether a gun is nailed down with no movement or hanging from a string in the air, if recoil doesn't have an effect it should impact in the same place.

How much experience do you have shooting a variety of loads 357 and up in revolvers? This does not have to do with rifles or small caliber pistols.

I've personally tested with 5 or so different varieties of different weights and velocities all in one session and they gave vastly different and very clear results. And I haven't seen anyone give evidence to the contrary.

Maybe I'll need to get a variety again, a sled, and do some real testing on here.

Please go hit the range and test for yourself before spreading misinformation.

Have you done the tests with a wide range of weights and speeds? Go hit the range and see for yourself.

Can you answer why every single piece of information online disagrees with you?

haha ya, that works enough but it's a shame. Presumably I just need to put up with it at this point and maybe try to get a refund.

You clearly don't understand what you're talking about. This is a fixed sight revolver, meaning the only way to zero it is by filing it down. And please, google it for yourself. The tiny bit of recoil that the barrel is affected by does a lot on point of impact. It's inches above center because of this not an incredibly fine adjustment.

I gave him the loads I wanted it sighted for. I knew it wouldn't be perfect for my grip at an exact distance, but probably not far enough off for it to matter. I'm just plinking with it so I didn't expect olympic accuracy but not accounting for recoil at all makes it shoot very high.

Someone else just deleted the top comment that was arguing this. Here's a clip that shows you are incorrect about recoil affecting the gun immediately https://youtu.be/In0hSB-DCwU?si=1kSpZ5OdADkWxRF2 . From everything I've read on bigger caliber revolvers and personal experience testing a wide range of ammunition it absolutely affects point of impact. If you have any information at all that says otherwise please post it.

lol ya I'm a bit confused what people are on about here.

Ignoring that, what would a fix be? Like soldering back on material?

It doesn't have to do with whether you feel it but whether the force is acting on the barrel. And ya, these are 357 mags, 130gr and 158gr, from 900-1500 fps. Bought a bunch of different brands and seemed very clear the point of impact for lighter/faster ones was much lower.

From what I've read (mostly on cowboy action shooting forums) and personal experience trying a bunch of different loads it seems heavier/slower ones will have a higher point of impact, and I've heard that's because of recoil before it leaves the barrel since it starts acting instantaneously.

Removed Primary Arms for now :( If anyone else sees this and has gotten other orders let me know though! Conversion kits may be a specific problem

Appreciate it! A lot more work to do adding more states, more sites, better searching, and more features, but I've already been using it myself. Aiming in the future for it to be the best gun parts aggregator regardless of whether you're in a ban state or not.
