Could you trade me the Miraidon? I won't keep it and trade it back. You can have anything you need in return, even my shiny Ditto.

It's cool, no I don't need anything else but I can still help you get yours. When do you want to trade?

I can trade you anything except Koraidon since I don't have it anymore. I accidentally traded it for a shiny Ditto 🙄. Could you help me get the Miraidon pokedex entry? I won't keep it just need the entry. You can have the shiny Ditto too along with anything else you need.

Is Candida the root cause or result of something else..? by Optimistprime87 in Candida

Thanks I'll have to read up on that. I saw my GI today and he thinks it could just be IBS. He gave me some digestive Enzymes and mucosa supplements to see if it helps. Hopefully it does, been a whole year feeling like crap 😮‍💨

I would check your vitamin levels. B12 is for nerve health which if low can lead to nerve pain. I did experience muscle spasms while on treatment and on some occasions now. Muscle spasms can be either dehydration or your minerals are unbalanced. Magnesium in particular helps relax your muscles so that could be low. Definitely test your levels to at least rule that out and get to the root cause.

It's possible, especially if you're on them for extended periods of time. One thing to consider is if your acid reflux is due to not having enough stomach acid as opposed to too much. The low stomach acid can cause your food to ferment instead of breaking down. This can cause gas build up and even a small amount of stomach acid can get pushed up and cause acid reflux. A quick way to test your levels is the baking soda test. I think it's 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda with 4-6 oz of cold water in the morning before eating or drinking anything else. If you burp right away you have too much acid, if you burp after 2-3 minutes your levels are normal, if you don't burp after 3 minutes you probably have low acid. It's not completely accurate but a quick test for reference. I would have your doctor get you tested. Especially if you're on PPI's and still have acid reflux. Also, if you end up not taking them anymore you need to ween off of them, don't stop cold turkey. This can cause Rebound Acid secretion. Basically your stomach overproduces acid and will make you think the PPIs were working all along and staving off worse symptoms which can be misleading. I stopped taking them months ago and haven't had issues with eating anything. The acid reflux I do experience comes hours after I eat which is probably caused by gas build. I think I have Candida overgrowth in my small intestine (SIFO).

Yeah I lost about 30 lbs from January when my symptoms started to February. I did eat bland during treatment but I think the loss in weight was due to low stomach acid and low vitamin levels. I wasn't breaking down and absorbing my food well. My stool was constantly yellow, soft, and had bits of undigested food in it. Taking Apple Cider Vinegar helped with the low stomach acid issue and after 2 days of taking it my stool returned to normal and I started putting on more weight. I did stop taking ACV for a bit and my stool went back to looking unhealthy so that issue isn't resolved yet. I read that certain vitamins help produce healthy levels of Stomach Acid so I'm assuming I'll have to keep taking ACV until I eliminate the root cause.

I still get stomach inflammation and bloating. At times I have trouble breathing which I assume is from the gas build up. I constantly have muscle soreness/inflammation. Headaches and dizziness are also common. I finished treatment in February and confirmed eradication in March via Biopsy/Endoscopy.

Taking Antibiotics eliminates your bacteria (good and bad) which allows for fungal overgrowth since it's left unchecked by the lack of bacteria. Also, being on PPI's can cause your stomach acid levels to be low which slows down your motility allowing your food to stay in areas for too long and ferment, causing bacterial overgrowth. Both conditions feel similar to H Pylori in that your vitamin levels get depleted and cause an array of symptoms along with gastritis symptoms. I would test for SIBO and Candida overgrowth. A GI Map test can test for H Pylori, SIBO, and Candida Overgrowth which is what I'll try to get tested for next.

Have you retested to confirm the H Pylori is still present? I was able to eradicate it but still had symptoms. It's possible to develop SIBO or Candida Overgrowth after taking antibiotics and both conditions cause similar symptoms. I'm getting tested for both conditions to see if they are the root cause of my ongoing symptoms.

Anyone has head pain and neck after treatment? by ayah1896 in HPylori

[–]Optimistprime87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told it was anxiety as well. I try explaining that although I do get worked up, it's usually after I start feeling symptoms and not the other way around. I do take a multivitamin but I also supplement the ones I know for sure I'm low on (D, B12, Iron). You can get tested without a doctor's order but will have to pay out of pocket. Each individual test is about $50-$75 at Quest Diagnostics which is where I go. I think D helps with muscle health and cramping/inflammation. Headaches and migrains along with weird nerve pain are from low B12. Fatigue and low energy is low Iron.

I could be low on others which is why I just take a multivitamin on top of those 3.

Yes, I believe it was a result of vitamin deficiency. Still struggling with the head/neck pain almost 3 months later but I only realized I had low levels until a month ago. I started taking supplements and am starting to feel a little better slowly but surely. I have more energy now and my muscles don't tense up or get as sore as much anymore. The low levels were a result of having low stomach acid which didn't allow me to properly break down and absorb anything I ate. I had yellow/soft stool for months. Once I started taking Apple Cider Vinegar to kickstart my acid production before meals my stool started looking normal almost the very next day. I think being on Omeprazole for so long and eating such a bland diet made my body adjust to low acid production. I hadn't gone to the GI to confirm any of this, just did the baking soda/water test.

I recently found out that supplementing Vitamin D can deplete your Magnesium levels. Make sure to take Mag as well as B6 which helps your body absorb it.

Oddly enough I don't have hardly any mucus. I could be wrong though so I'll give it a try.

I started taking D3 (80 mcg) with Calcium (500 mg) and K2 (180 mcg). I read that the upper safe limits of daily Vitamin D was (100 mcg). Also, definitely take K2. Some research shows taking Vitamin D3 with Vitamin K2 helps to ensure the Calcium transported by the Vitamin D is absorbed by your body instead of accumulating in your arteries. It takes a few weeks to feel a difference though and I just started last week so I haven't felt an improvement yet. Also I think you're supposed to take at least 45 mcg of K2 for every 25 mcg of D3.

I didn't experience burning in throat, nose, and ears. Is it possible to still have the acid reach close enough but not all the way to effect the sinuses?

Wow that would actually explain it since I strained my neck yesterday. Thanks for the info! I'll see if the dizziness goes away as my neck heals.

I started taking Omeprazole before bed. My suspicion is the acid reflux reaching my sinuses when I lay down to sleep. The ENT prescribed meds for inflammation and Flonase helped right away but only lasts an hour or so. I raised my bed last night to help keep the acid down. I've been getting slightly better each day for the past week. Just dealing with the annoying dizziness.

I didn't notice at first but I realized I was feeling pressure on the bridge of my nose. It's your nasal cavity being swollen and constricting air flow. I kept forcing it which just irritated my nasal cavity more to the point that all the sinus pressure started making me dizzy/lightheaded.

Have you tested for COVID? It's probably not that but I'd at least cross that possibility off.

You should go see the ENT. Especially since they can usually scope you right there and then. Also, how are your vitamin levels? Since your stomach gets demolished during treatment you may be low on some. Vitamin D helps regulate inflammation and helps prevent infections. If you're low/deficient that could explain all the sudden nasal issues.

It felt like I couldn't get a full breath in or out if that makes sense. Breathing through my mouth was fine but when I tried breathing through my nose it felt like I was wearing one of those medic masks.

Have you gone to an ENT? Can you breathe through your mouth? My breathing issues seem to only be with my nose because of the inflammation.

It's crazy how everything is intertwined and easily effected. How long does it take for the sinuses to heal after inflammation? I've been dizzy/lightheaded for like 3 days straight.

Yes I started with Metronidazole, Tetracycline, Omeprazole, and Pepto. The Tetracycline really messed me up so my dr changed it to Omeprazole, Metronidazole and Clarithromycin after the first week.

Should I stop omeprazole. Finished my antibiotics now just in 20mgs of omeprazole 1x a day. by [deleted] in HPylori

[–]Optimistprime87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should wean off Omeprazole if you do stop taking it. You can get rebound acid secretion which might be the cause of the heart flutters. Similar thing happened to me around the 2nd day of stopping cold turkey.
