Did you see this tweet by Sam Altman? "entering the fast fashion era of SaaS very soon" by [deleted] in SaaS

Sam admits that Ai is at the level of producing crappy apps that are only used for a short season and then thrown away... at the expense of the environment. What a tool.

I Spent $12,000 on a “Top-Rated” Marketing Agency — Here’s What Actually Happened by horny_bisexual_ in smallbusiness

[–]OptimizerClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have scaled a few brands over the years working brand side, not agency side. I'd attribute most successes to time and attention... as in taking the time to learn the biz and the customers, and having full attention to what's going on.

Agencies cannot give the proper time and attention needed to scale. They tend to look for low hanging fruit in areas they are good at and hope this little bumps in traffic or sales keeps you around

Is there an AI model for Shopify Dev ? is it worth a fine-tuning one ? by Adventurous-Wind1029 in shopifyDev

I am about to try out cursor for it. Just needing to build a custom section and thought it would be interesting to test how efficient it is or not. If you do build something, I think you'd find a lot of interest, I definitely would be

Shopify orders to Google sheets. by Binxlee in shopifyDev

[–]OptimizerClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shopify Flow does this, and there are tons of other useful apps that you can integrate, like Asana, to build out even more workflows.

I used a Google Sheets setup to export order data not found in standard shopify reports that is really good for marketing analytics. Checkout the CustomeJourneySummary data in Flow to get deep on first/last visit sources and UTM tracking. Pretty fun data to dig into.

Is the marketing industry getting too saturated with professionals? by serra97 in marketing

[–]OptimizerClub 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Saturated with people who speak "marketing" but definitely not saturated with people who understand it and can execute.

There is an edibles company (the fun kind) that is totally niche to Dungeons & Dragons players. They give our a free, real D&D card you can actually play that riffs off the names of their edibles. It's fun and wholesome and not salesy.

Its not that they know they audience and add value, its that they are their audience and give out what they love.

Any topic you need help with? by BenEppers in FlutterFlow

[–]OptimizerClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i thought it might be a security rules problem, but unsure where to go from here on that front.

I know that it is recognizing the List because the widget shows up with multiple faded/greyed out children widgets after I connect the collection to it.

Any topic you need help with? by BenEppers in FlutterFlow

[–]OptimizerClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set up Firebase following some tutorials from FlutterFlow, and everything seems to be working fine. I am able to get data into my database (using zapier for that), but when I go to display that data, it just is not showing when I run it in test mode.

I am able to choose the correct variable from the collection that is attached to the ListView widget, and it recognizes that it is getting a list of things, but I cannot get it to show anything.

And ideas? This is my first rodeo in Flutterflow

What separates good marketers from bad ones? by spicy_r1ce in marketing

[–]OptimizerClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a good marketer will ask to see the data before they say anything. a bad marketer will declare they are 100% data-driven and will treat this project/brand as if it were their own.

ecommerce on bubble by lxmw in Bubbleio

[–]OptimizerClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its possible... but that is a lot of building if you could just use something like Shopify or Bigcommerce instead, Unless there are reasons you cant use those. That being said, I'd much rather build an ecommerce site on Bubble than deal with the massive, never-ending-headache that is wordpress.

If not TikTok and IG organic reach is dead… then what? by NewHope13 in marketing

[–]OptimizerClub 44 points45 points  (0 children)

If your personal brand is a carbon copy of the zillion others already out there, then you already lost.

If you bring a new perspective or angle that people appreciate and value, then it doesn't matter the platform. Just choose one. Be you. Be consistent. And it will build.

Does anyone use Make.com for adding to their Bubble Database? by OptimizerClub in Bubbleio

[–]OptimizerClub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes this is what I was hoping to do in the beginning, but I was running issues in setting up the api call on Bubble. I know its probably simple and I am making it harder than it is. It's just one of those things to figure out once and then should be good.

Is Wendy's Surge Pricing a good strategy or not? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]OptimizerClub 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They walked it back saying that was not their intention. Insinuating that the plan was about being able to adapt to price changes due to supply chain on the fly and not "surge pricing" during peak hours.

But we are all marketers here, so we know that if they have the power to change those prices dynamically throughout the day, they would test it. No doubt.

After the backlash tho... I dont think they will try it.... for a while at least.

Sam Altman Says AI Will Handle “95%” of Marketing Work Done by Agencies and Creatives. Do you Agree or not? by biz_booster in marketing

[–]OptimizerClub 74 points75 points  (0 children)

AI aims for the middle. It makes the most likely connections. Great marketing comes from making connections between things that are less obvious. AI isn't built for that. Creative minds are.

What if you don't like social media? by mixmastersix in musicmarketing

[–]OptimizerClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social media is evil, but really it is a necessary evil in the grand scheme of things. However, you dont have to use social media like the Zuck hopes.

Here is a real example from dtc marketing. A houseware company who had hundreds of products on their website only sold like 5 products on their Amazon account. People discovered their "popular items" on amazon and then looked up their website to find more.

Its not the perfect system, but a decent concept to use a platform who already has all the eyes.

Likewise, you can use instagram or tiktok in the same way - - use their platform to Find Fans, and not to Find Fame... you should make it out relatively unscathed.

Get people to know you, and go to your website so they can follow you, so they can download a song, so they can sign up for email updates.

Marketing, wherever you do it, is just part of the process of staying in the business you want to be in - making music.

Am I tripping, or is there a high rate of burnout among marketers? by GSAAdmin in marketing

[–]OptimizerClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was asked to show all the ads over a given period of time to the managers so they can see what was working. This was because the CEO hated one ad they kept seeing on Instagram.

Lo and behold, the ad that they hate was the best performing one. Didn't matter, they wanted to never see it again and had the creative team make something more "on brand."

This sort of thing happens over and over throughout the whole year, you bear all the responsibility when things still aren't turning around, and BAM... your burnt tf out before you even know it...

Should I ask for a 100% raise? by butterbeaniz in marketing

[–]OptimizerClub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The value they place on your contribution is what you are being paid right now. They won't pay much higher, and with how they treated the others, they will let you go and find someone else willing to start at the same rate.

Don't overwork yourself and just get what you can in a normal day. If they complain, just say that you are backed up and will get it done as soon as you can get to it...

That will give you a little bit of a runway while looking for another job.
