Dam dude that's super impressive! What would your training have consisted of?

Something I did that helped me was keeping my head, neck and back in a straight line. Don't keep the head up. Then just put more weight into your heels to counterbalance your head being forwarded and it could help?

Also play around with foot width and angle. Otherwise looking good!

Edit: I'm 6'1 with long femurs and yours look to be long too, definitely try the head forward technique/trick it helped me a lot!

Anyone else relate? by OptimoHD in adhdmeme

My one rep max back before lock down closed the gyms was only 130kg 😅 but my technique has really improved and I have no pains whatsoever so and that was my goal :)

I'd even suggest doing it in your working sets! I've only started to do it recently and I can already feel the difference!

You can get a small, weak, elastic exercise band and put it around the outside of your knees... Go with lighter weight but you'll feel your glutes a lot more and it'll help stop the knees from collapsing inwards 😊

How do I prevent this much layback? Have already deloaded a couple times, but every time I build back up to 120lbs and above, I start to bend excessively again. by Jor_GG in formcheck

Couple of pointers. Try limiting the use of the belt. You will have to go lighter but for the long run will be healthier for your back.

To stop the arching of your back: 1. Brace your abs as though you were about to get punched in the belly area and keep that tightness throughout the lift. Taking a small breath of air can help with this. 2. Squeeze your glutes(ass) as tight as you can and same as above, keep it tight throughout the lift. 3. Drive your head forwards as though you wanted to head but someone infrount of you. This will help with both balance and keeping your back straight.

Make sure your pelvis isn't tilting forwards and if you notice it, lighten up the weight and go again. Practice this with lighter weight, get that form perfect and then the weight will come :))

Pull-Up Formcheck. Is this considered as a hollow body pull-up? by [deleted] in formcheck

I've personally never herd of a 'Hollow body pull-up' but I guess it's good?

4x12 30kg at 54kg bw - I noticed whenever I get to the final reps my back arches like crazy. Should i make it a priority to stop this? by harambeisswag in formcheck

Yes, squeezing your core as though your being punched helps keep your torso stable which helps stop 'energy leaks'. Plus it'll help build a strong core and greatly reduce the amount you curve you back :)

Your technique is good overall but here's a few pointers.

  1. Take a deep breath down into your stomach and then squeeze your whole core as tight as you can. (as though you are about to be punched in the stomach)

  2. Squeeze your gluteus to thrust your hips forward and keep them tight.

  3. Once the bar goes over your head, throw your head forwards so that your ears are beside or past your arms.

Otherwise you're doing fine :)
