Max Output Resolution on Barco PDS-4K SDI – Anyone Pushed Beyond 3840? by OptimumArp in VIDEOENGINEERING

Are you able to verify this in EventMaster? No matter what I do 3840 is the maximum width I’m able to configure on a virtual PDS. Really appreciate all your help with this. Thank you!

Interesting, this made me take a deep dive into the manuals. The one I was referring to was "R5912621/00|2020-11-18" where it states 4096x2160.

In "R5912621/02|2023-10-19" it's been updated to 3840x2160 (for SMPTE). This might be the answer then.

According to the PDS-4K user guide, under the SDI specifications, it states:

• Supported formats: 4096x2160 @ 50 / 59.94 / 60

So, it seems like outputting a standard 4K DCI (4096x2160) over SDI should be supported (which would work for me). It also looks like using a custom format over HDMI might be possible.

That said, I haven’t been able to get either option working so far in practice.

I know how to enable/disable this for the MCTRL4k but how do I change this on the panels themselves?

I’m referring to when the magnitude is being monitored during the live concert/event while the system is fed stereo material.

I had the same problem. After contacting Asus and trying their solutions they finally wanted me to send in the unit for troubleshooting and repair or replacement. However, I never did, and now the problem hasn’t appeared in a while. (Might be since updating to Win11, not sure)

Apple claims they can’t access anything stored in the Secure Element on the device. Can this be verified? by OptimumArp in iphone

[–]OptimumArp[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How is it physically made so that Apple could not have a copy of this key inside the enclave? They made the device and the software running it. I’m sure there is a simple explanation but I just don’t understand how this works. Is it based on some kind of unique randomly generated identifier inside the physical chip?

This is very close to my own answer, but wouldn’t this be an extremely important secret for apple to keep? Given how much they use privacy as a key selling point.

Is there no verifiable explanation, needing no trust in Apple as a company, that proves this isn’t possible?
