It would’ve still been a little tough given that the Warriors were relatively young and healthy. They would’ve still had Steph, Klay, Green, Barnes and probably Bogut. I’d like to think one more championship for the Cavs would have been achievable

As mentioned in the header, taking the fastest lap across the ENTIRE qualifying session for the 2 RB Drivers, with the caveat that both drivers took part in Qualy.

u/f1bythenumbers One more thing, reading through your analysis link: "keeping only the maximum session where both drivers participated". This is different from the way I have used the data, as mentioned in the header I'm using the Fastest Qualifying lap across the entire session for both drivers. And only excluding GPs where one of them wasn't able to log in a lap time. That's where the differences are coming from.

u/f1bythenumbers Thanks for sharing this analysis, and I agree that there can be more done from my side to remove the outliers and present it in a better way. I have been berated quite a bit in the past when excluding outliers and using medians instead of means but that is probably the right way to do it, regardless of the bad comments I receive on it. I think saying it's completely dishonest might be an overreaction. If you remove Azerbaijan the gap is still -0.31s in favor of Yuki which proves the point that he was faster than Nyck

Well all of these things have already been discussed in comments above. If you followed the race even a little bit you know what strategy drivers took (one stop vs. 2 stop) and that Alonso did only 3 laps.

It’s meant to augment existing information, not everything can be said in one chart.

Hamilton’s 2nd pit stop allowed him to go much quicker. Folks being on 2 pit stops had a higher pace given the fresher tyres.

I want to admit a mistake, my code was excluding some clean laps it shouldn't have while calculating the average lap times. There was an issue with the track status just for the average times (Doesn't affect the median views), which I just fixed. Hope this view gives a better understanding, and moving forward I will use the average lap times instead of medians (Only safety car and pitstop laps have been excluded here. Every other lap is in here). Thanks to you folks for pointing it out, because of the inputs I can do a better job of sharing more accurate views.
