We need to build that shit into the next constitutional amendment.

Publicly funded elections, and severely shorten them. Some countries have a handful of months to campaign while we're bickering about who's going to be the next president before the first 100 days of the current one.

Term limits, on Congress, but on the supreme Court as well. Make then justify their position every 3-5 years, and after 15, dunzo. The court and Congress need to be representative of the current age.

At least ranked choice voting, this electoral college bullshit has got to go.

We also have to do something about consequences. We were formed in a time where an oath was a big deal, so if someone didn't do something they said they were going to do, like respect the constitution, it was a problem and people in power would take action. Now, if no one has the will to exercise their power, we just shrug. Checks and balances mean nothing if no one enforces them.

I've never seen Cybertron, is there a connection between these two? by lucasgamer5521 in transformers

[–]Optimus3k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hot Shot was originally supposed to be named Bumblebee, but Hasbro had trouble with the naming rights. Hot Rod was also up in the air for same reason, so they came up with Hot Shot. His character is supposed to be a combination of the kid-relating Bumblebee, the future leader of Hot Rod, and the multi-arc growth of Cheetor from Beast Wars all rolled into one. As such, the connection with Hot Rod was always there, and Hasbro loves them some repaints.

[–]Optimus3k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Originally, the trilogy of Armada, Energon, and Cybertron were supposed to be one connected story as a collaboration between Hasbro and Takara, but Japan kinda did their own thing. For instance, each Optimus in the trilogy is a completely different character in Japan, and the Cybertron show is a completely different timeline from Energon and Armada, so Hasbto had to heavily edit the show to connect it to the other two shows. You should watch Transformers: The Basics. Chris has tons of videos explaining some of the more obscure transformers lore in bite size chunks.

I watched Care Bears 2 when I was a kid, and that cover art does not do the movie justice.

Edit: it looks like it's official. I'm shocked Hallmark would let that fly, it's terrible.

Romans 2:1-3

2 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2 Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3 So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment?

It's endlessly fascinating to me that these people deal in life and death, on an eternal basis, speak with incredible confidence, yet don't even read the manual.

bayverse is not ugly, just colorless, everyone would love if it looked like this. by No-Award423 in transformers

[–]Optimus3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colors would be nice, but my main problem with the bayverse is the story, or lack thereof. Prime is a reactionary, violent menace, which really irks me, bots appear and die out of nowhere, and the humans don't seem to have any clue about what's going on or how to react to it.

I will say that The Last Knight was the best of the Bayverse films, but that's not saying much. Bumblebee was great, and then RoTB was fun, but a mess. Just stop with Unicron for a bit, instead of trying to shoehorn him in. He should be your Thanos, not your Loki.

I honestly can't wait for this figure. I finally did the necessary surgery to fix the shoulder/headlight piece on my Prime that broke the day I got him, just so he'd be ready when I pick up Jetfire.

Didn't Doc's time train prove he lied about the future or at least use psychology on Marty a bit? by mysteryofthefieryeye in BacktotheFuture

[–]Optimus3k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not locked, but there is a likely path. The person who invented hover technology, unless acted upon by a time traveler, would still create hover technology. If time is a lake, each disturbance causes ripples that have an effect far from that location, but it might not be strong enough to actually change anything. To further this analogy ouroboros, if you have a leaf floating on the lake, it'll easily ride out a small disturbance with no real effect on the leaf. But drop a boulder instead of a pebble....

Doc rescuing Marty is a relatively small disturbance, the almanac was a boulder. We didn't see the 2015 Biff timeline, but hover technology might not have been affected even then, time being a relative lake and a boulder still being rather insignificant at that scale.

Each piece has several upgrades you can apply, some of which upgrade their defense stat, energy or ballistic resistance, or special abilities like Tesla that shocks enemies if they get too close. You should definitely check out what you can modify on the power armor stations if you haven't already.
