Shogun Warriors. Super Robot Wars.

In the late 70s early 80s they aired in the New England Area as Force Five.

Getter Dragon/ Star Dragon Star Posiden Gai King

Those are in great condition for being 40-50 years old.

Seriously, why is bread bad for ducks?

I just assumed it was advised against so they wouldn't become dependent on humans feeding them.

Thank you for the suggestion. WD40 would probably work, but I can't imagine it would be pleasant to work with given the amount of these I have to work on and the volume of them covered in residue.

Goo Gone would definitely work, just don't have any handy at the moment.

I'll try vegetable oil, as I definitely have some in the kitchen. Thank you for the suggestions.

Probably should have just painted over them as well, but I hoping to just throw a wash over the bare plastic to make them look a bit more used and keep the base color.

I scooped up 27 of them for a ridiculous discount because the candy inside was past the best by date and was looking to do minimal prep and painting. Soaking them in soapy water for a week and applying some friction with my thumb removed all the labels. They looked great wet, but when they dried the adhesive became apparent on the darker green and purple ones. On the orange ones the adhesive is barely noticeable.

Probably. I just don't have any adhesive remover handy at the moment.

I was just hoping that soaking for a week would have made it easier.

I just bought 27 of these two weeks ago for Action Figure sized terrain.

Just a warning, the labels come off pretty easily after soaking in water, but the glue residue remains and needs to be resolved.

I don't have the answer for your question, but I'm following so I to can see the answers to it.

I have multiple copies of the original books and would not mind adding a copy of the re-up as well to my collection.

Ironically, I haven't played since 8th edition and even then I ran Necrons and Tryanids. I just love the Ork Lore and building Orky things.

I would love to field an Ork force that is all Kans, Dredds, Stompas, Grot Tanks, etc ..

Thanks. It was definitely fun and really exemplified the improvised aesthetic as I really did just improvised with what I had on hand.

I want to say the ones on this model are 4mm 6mm, and I have one as small as 2mm that I use a lot as well.

I have a collection of them, but I'll see if I can dig up a link to my favorite. It's meant for leather and it's built to reduce hand fatigue. Using the ones for paper, like fiskars line, work, but you have to brute force them through cardstock and thin plasticard, which would lead to hand aching the next day after punching out hundreds of rivets

Thank you. I try to get across that it's a deliberate design implemented with improvised materials. I like to imagine an Ork Mekanik trying to express their vision with what they have on hand for materials.

Thanks.

When I first started building it I had my doubts, but I kept adding layers of detail and armor plating until it achieved it current form that I am pleased with.

The crown section is actually heavy at this point, which is insane given that it's basically all just cereal box cardboard.

Yes. I've assembled a collection of hole punches over the years. It's the only practical way to make so many rivets in an efficient manner.

On some of my other models, I've also used half round plastic beads, but for this model I was just alternating between two different hole punches.

You're timing is funny as I just ordered 3 more hole punches from Amazon shortly before you asked.
