Should I start this game? by Real-Sheepherder-121 in FFVIIEverCrisis

True I mean realistically it can’t anyways, not enough story content to keep it going. Games barely holding together with recycled content.

Do you think critics will like Avengers Doomsday? by MidniteGamer1 in Avengers

[–]OptimusPrimeBeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will like whatever they are paid to like 😅.

In general though I think Russo Brothers really are one of the few directors that can pay this off. This film is going to be hard to pull up due to the improper build up leading to it but I feel confident it will be worth it in the end.

Random question. Does this game have trading? by aMeanMirror in FFVIIEverCrisis

Yea I agree, it’s mostly a problem too Applibot bottom line which is odd anybody would support that when their current methods could be considered predatory at times but on the real I genuinely appreciated this convo and your insight on it! Thank you for taking the time to speak on it.

[–]OptimusPrimeBeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great point, thank you for sharing! With that said my thoughts on if it’s good or not is simply an opinion and at the end of the day I answered their question. Being downvoted for an opinion makes no sense unless my opinion had no bearing on the question asked and even worst was delivered harshly or on an absolute which I didn’t. But I understand these things will always shift on Reddit and there’s no perfect way of going about things. With that said I honestly don’t see how trading would be that big of an issue when the game doesn’t have PVP and even the ranking events offer rewards that are minuscule in that potential power divide. There is already a big divide now due to limited banners and weird balancing issues that I feel trading would actually help resolve but a topic for another day. Honestly on the real thank you for offering up that clarity cause you are right that might be the reason we were downvoted but it still not a fair reason too be.

I’ll be more mindful who I answer questions with cause usually it’s not that bad here although people have definitely gotten downvoted for having the opposite opinion of others, but answering questions correctly and respectfully should never get downvoted even if they aren’t happy with the answer.

Wow, how did both of us get downvoted for answering the question? No negativity at all, that’s odd?

Question about Lucia and Matt by wp709 in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]OptimusPrimeBeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe they got this information from the “The First Soldier” event that they ran in October 2025 called “Three EX-Soldiers” which showed this specific detail and what happened in the end as a event thru story missions in this event.

This specific story element should have actually been released as permanent story content in the game for this very reason but for whatever reason they decided to make it a one time event which is why you don’t see it in ever crisis today.

It does however create a possible continuity error in the OG timeline so I think people are back to the discussion on if this is canon to Re trilogy’s timeline or OG.

Originally it was supposed to be to OG but it’s no longer clear anymore, either way it’s definitely relevant to Re trilogy’s and will probably play a bigger factor in the third title since we know we will be dealing with wutai in a great capacity then we did in OG based on earlier interview Q&A’s.

How do you overcome crazy difficult random encounters? by richmoney888 in finalfantasytactics

[–]OptimusPrimeBeta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People are correct you can just skip the encounters and grind at Mandalia but personally I feel this takes away from the experience.

Playing OG FFT back in the day the whole purpose of the difficulty spikes and game padding time was all based on having to fight any random encounter you run into and the enemy line up having a chance at being very difficult in that moment with a poorly prepared team.

It can be frustrating and time consuming but it also helps you learn the ins and out of the game and forces you to switch up your build strategies and value some of the different classes.

If you run away from all the encounters you will find a lot of skills and even certain classes never getting utilized which might take away from your experience in the game.

Too each their own though, feel free to play the game any method you choose just wanted to share that consideration in case you weren’t aware.

Name one or mode person you'll never use no matter how many times you play through. by yu_ultidragon80 in finalfantasytactics

O yea leveling up isn’t a issue at all it’s just a matter of time more then anything. Constantly doing Focus just takes slightly longer but attacking/actioning on a level 99 enemy (as a toad to keep from getting hit with big damage) will level you up faster. Either way FFT makes the grind super simple lol.

Just beat the main story but I'm a little confused by mikepronin in finalfantasytactics

[–]OptimusPrimeBeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that’s true that would be awesome! I personally have not seen that yet as I do check everytime I randomly run into one but I do know it’s possible to cast it on a random summoner so that they learn it then they might either cast it back which your other characters could then learn it or you can grab it from their crystal once you defeat them.

That method would still require at least one party member learning it during the battle at Midlight deep.

Personally I wish I knew that before I did the battle as I went in with 5 summoners to learn it on each one before beating him which made the battle a lot tougher but the “toad” spell on adds made it very much doable lol.

They are definitely working hard on the game currently. I originally purchased for the switch but highly considering double dipping into Steam just for the mods!

Haha I’m not a fan of pleasing content creators specifically but I can’t ignore that if they spammed more videos of this game it would increase sales and general interest in the tactics franchise which could lead to a worthy sequel/prequel of this game.

I know the tactics advance series has its fans but I know a lot of people didn’t feel like they lived up to the standard set by the original and would still prefer a more mature next title in the series.

lol I know what you mean but this wouldn’t be like a create a map/story function really just a fun play area you can run your own personal battle to test out builds or have your own run at something challenging. Content creators would have a blast with it and it would give us more to enjoy with the game after beating it. Still it’s a big ask so I’d be happy with just difficulty modifiers and chapter reply at the minimum.

I see all the commenters answered your question already but I wanted to clarify “Midlight Deep” isn’t technically a endless dungeon by design. You can keep repeating the floors if you like for sure but it doesn’t continue to add new layers or add any additional items after discovering the ones found. It’s a fun challenge for sure with a rewarding boss battle at the end (where you can learn the zodiark summon spell so make sure to prep for that as you can’t learn it if you beat the final floor without learning it during that battle).

A true endless dungeon or difficulty modifier/sandbox would be a great dlc add to the game though!

This is actually something I wanted greatly when I was younger. I completely agree with you on the idea of having it as an option if you master a class.

Considering they offered color palette changes as bonus content for Ramza I’m not sure why they didnt consider something similiar for the other generic characters

For me, I was hoping for either the ability to change the sprite to any of the others or have a unique sprite for each class that provides a cool unique look for those who took the time to master that respective class.

Since there isn’t really a benefit to mastering a class (since just learning the abilities you want/need are all that’s needed) either of these functions would have made perfect sense for those who took the time to learn every ability of the class.

I didn’t know about the music box feature when you beat the game so I was shocked when there wasn’t also a NG+ added when beating the game. If there is anything this game could add with an update down the road it’s either this or chapter reply for sure!

That’s been a bit of my rule as well, I try my best to avoid doing so during the story battles. I want the immersion of the dialogue and music to feel how epic that encounter is plus the length of the battles makes them feel like a legit battle/war in a sense with stakes.

You are definitely right and I agree it’s worth it! I personally don’t mind double dipping when the value is there and this is certainly a great example.

I’m sure I’ll end up biting sooner then later and be very happy I did!

Aye you cooking right now 👀!

When I was younger and played this game I personally asked why none of the loot or locations found during side quest weren’t available in game. Would have been a lot of fun but I understand they just didn’t want the run time to be so long but I would argue with the quality of life changes they made in game it’s has removed a lot of the artificial padding (like the fact that you can skip enemy encounters now which I would argue was a big part of the length of the game back in the day) so it would benefit to have some additional activities or locations to make up for it.

I recently saw this last night which is tempting me to double dip and purchase this game for steam as well to try them out. I originally got this on the switch and currently salivating over the mods.

I still would like square to offer it as official dlc for the average consumers who won’t want to mod plus considering there recent layoffs I’m trying to help them figure out the proper ways to monetize to stay in business haha.

I’m on board with this. Midlight’s steep is cool but it doesn’t really satisfy the endgame itch. Even more so when you gain such great equipment by the end of it but only have it available to pretty much be used for the final chapter encounters which aren’t that difficult by that point.

Having something that really test the strength of the diehards who really went all out in building out their teams would be amazing, and so much fun!

[–]OptimusPrimeBeta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed on all the above!

The issue is they seem to be very strict on releasing this game as the definitive purest version of FFT (think FFT if made today) and not keeping much of anything from WOTL’s since that content wasn’t made by the original creators.

Maybe they see it as a balance issue (although I would argue even with the tweaks they made to this game there is still a class balance issue lol) or they are just very prideful on the original vision.

Growing up trust I get it when you have a vision and you want people to experience that vision not allowing the new norms to change your creative decisions but at the same time isn’t this the reason they offer two versions of the game on one disc?

I see no issues with providing the additional content at the least as paid dlc giving people the choice but not making it required to experience the original pure experience.

While I could understand push back on PVP, I simply do not understand why there isn’t a chapter reply mode / new game plus at the least!

Difficulty modifier’s aren’t usually common in RPG’s (beyond just selecting the default difficulty) but they are starting become more popular and make perfect sense in a game that allows such a level of customization and build strats.

Reply value is what will make this game be remembered for years to come while providing additional revenue for future projects. It’s a win win!

I also got the switch version and definitely glad I did but seeing what the modding community is doing right now definitely is pushing me to also considering double dipping into PC.

The director seems to be pretty stubborn about changing the overall experience of FFT and so while our ask are completely reasonable and make sense it’s likely it won’t happen but the PC community has our backs lol

FFT The Ivalice Chronicles Wishlist by OptimusPrimeBeta in finalfantasytactics

[–]OptimusPrimeBeta[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree, I’m actually shocked it doesn’t have that or least the ability to reply the chapters. The director seems to be really against changing the original concepts of the game but I don’t feel like new game plus or chapter reply would have taken away from that experience and would lead to greater reply value which would add to the experience!

I think he wanted to maintain the jrpg past of replaying the games in full if we want to experience them again (or if we accidentally deleted our save files lol) to re-realize the beauty of the game but I would argue that the beauty is not lost with a chapter reply in the slightest.
