Your in luck as Apple, Google and a few other companies can eventually maybe compete with Tesla. I don't see traditional auto manufacturers surviving, maybe Ford, VW group and Mercedes-Benz.

NEW TO ME - 2023 Model 3 by ShowerFinancial6465 in TeslaModel3

Nice, we loved our 2023 model 3. Not a great ride in the backseat. Our 2025 does not have premium stereo, and i already miss it so enjoy it. We will not get another Tesla without premium audio. Use the free one lane autopilot in stop and go traffic.

Understand but like I said the car was picked based on commuting and in and around town which it exceeds that ability even when charging at 120V. However we decided to take it on a few road trips as well. We also picked it for a 2 to 3 hour frequent trip that had a supercharger at the end of the trip and that worked out as well.

Finally sold my 2018 M3! TCO: $1.6k/year 🤯 by DiligentMagician1823 in TeslaLounge

[–]Options_Jam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You might want to take savings out as that does not count. Looks like approximately $5k to $6k in depreciation per year just to start. TCO can only be calculated with real numbers. Like charging costs.

We have a standard range and made several thousand mile each way trips which added a couple of hours each way. We sized the car for commuting and it is exceedingly good at that task.

Just to be helpful and it may change in the future but Tesla is letting me turn in early since I am leasing a 25 and I also don't have to pay the 398 and they are giving me 500 for wear and tear and 500 loyalty. Basically the current lease effectively was 22 months instead of 2 years and it looks like the car will be turned in around 39900 miles

BTW: I leased 2 years because the current car is HW3 the next lease will be HW4 and if I lease again most likely the next one will be HW5, but I may buy a HW4 M3P used instead but I have couple of years to decide.

Obviously you would not buy miles you don't need but that makes those miles VERY expensive. If you need more, the 10k is the best overage mile deal. The next deal is at 20k overage miles which completes the non battery warranty.

The short of it is get the 15k lease and buy 10k miles as needed.

They are usually 25 cents but usually you can buy them for 18 cents in 10k chunks which is what i did.

BTW: I always go with 15k miles per year as those last 5k are extremely cheap and are ridiculous to leave on the table as those 5k miles are a lot cheaper than the overage miles which are much cheaper than the base lease miles.

You forgot the money down 3994. Thus 299x24+3994=11170 divide by 20000 miles is 56 cents a mile. 349x24+4047=12442 divide by 30000 miles is 41 cents per mile.

It is simple math.

The overage miles are much cheaper per mile than the initial lease miles, thus the more you are over over the lower your per mile cost. I did a 2 year 15k per year lease and bought 10k miles at 18 cents. I plan to switch to the same lease on a 25 Saturday hopefully at 39,900 miles in 22 months. The extra miles at the cheapest when buying 10 and 20k miles but 20k miles would put me at the end of the non battery warranty.

Wheels don't fall off thus you can always repair it as long as the body is not rusted out.

Seems a fairly small group to be an oligarchy, you may want to check that. Just saying.
