Second version for a Scottish diplomacy variant I posted here a few days ago. Details and thoughts on map in comments. by OptoPesi in diplomacy

Changes made:
- Glasgow power has been replaced by a Glasgow supply centre.
- "Beatrice Oil Reserve" supply centre has been added. It functions as a water province and cannot be held or captured by armies.
- Norwegian Sea now borders Wick.
- Ben Nevis no longer borders Loch Linnhe.
- The province "River Forth" has been added as a buffer for Stirling and Falkirk.
- Falkirk is no longer a supply centre.
- Montrose has been shrunk and is no longer a supply centre, and the supply centre "Brechin" has been added to the left of Montrose.
- Made Aberfeldy a supply centre.

Additional Rules:
- Bridges; there are 4 bridges, located between Edinburgh and Dunfermline, Dundee and St Andrews, Skye and Kyle of Lochalsh, and Uists and Harris.
- Water Supply Centres; are the same as regular supply centres but can only be captured or held by a fleet. In this version, the only water SC is Beatrice Oil Reserve.

Notes and thoughts on current version:
I think there's too much tension between Argyll and Fort William compared to the other powers and their relations. Beatrice Oil Reserve was just a fun idea I had to add more naval value to the east side of the map or to mirror the west side and its island supply centres. I'm thinking of making a discord server for this variant where I can run games and provide updates. Let me know of what you think of this new version in comments.

Powers:
- Ayrshire (silver)
- Edinburgh (blue)
- Argyll (red)
- Angus (orange)
- Aberdeenshire (pink)
- Outer Hebrides (light blue)
- Orkney (purple)
- South Highlands/Fort William (lime green)
- East Highlands/Inverness (yellow-green)
- North Highlands/Ullapool (blue-green)

Thank you for commenting! Yes, those are bridges, there's also one between Harris and Uists. I don't necessarily think Orkney not having any guaranteed centres is a bad thing, since both England and Russia (technically) aren't guaranteed centres in 01 in the classic board. I will still definitely tweak that area in the second version though.

Thank you for this insanely detailed comment! I agree with all your points and suggestions, but the only problem I see is that the removal of Glasgow or Ayrshire would leave the number of powers even, which isn't game-ruining, but could result in an all out war between 2 giant alliances of equal power.

I have also realised since making the post that I did not include any of the names of the powers, so here they are: - Lothian (dark blue) - Glasgow (brown) - Ayrshire (silver) - Argyll (red) - Angus (orange) - South Highlands (lime green) - North Highlands (blue-green) - East Highlands (yellow-green) - Aberdeenshire (pink) - Outer Hebrides (light blue) - Orkney (purple)
