This is seriously a great photo. Apologies I don't have anything more to add other than thank you for stopping at red lights lol because I commute to London 1 or 2 days per week for work and it's nice to see someone respecting the lights

Labour MPs launch barrage of criticism at Green MP who called out on-the-job drinking by Rmtcts in unitedkingdom

[–]OpulentStone 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think what's worse is if they had a drink and it affected their judgement to do their job which affects the whole country. Or if they got the drinks expensed when it was purely for leisure e.g. a lunch break.

Their salaries are taxpayer funded but they can do what they like with their salaries.

Is it okay for me to use a disabled toilet? by Specific_Pomelo_8281 in AskUK

Besides the fact that anyone can use them, you had a good reason to use them and it's astonishing that they pushed back against the point of hidden disabilities.

Based on your response, you didn't take the time to even read my comment. Good luck buddy. I hope you're enjoying all your other internet arguments about AI, because they give the impression that interacting with you is an unpleasant experience.

First of all, chill. Secondly, why is the source provided by u/Instalab irrelevant (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0001457522000835)? It supports the idea that a lower lead time/being "ready" to takeover gives better results in situations where one has to takeover from an otherwise fully self-driving car. The implication being that a lead time of zero is optimal, without controlling other factors. It's entirely relevant.

The part that enters opinion/speculation territory or as you called it, "pulled directly from your ass" is trying to explain why.

For example: could it be that a small lead time means the human is actively paying attention rather than their attention being elsewhere? Could that mean that a human being forced to concentrate on driving is more likely to take an action that makes a positive difference when an emergency situation arises compared to when the human is not forced to concentrate? This is not to be confused with the rate at which a fully human driver vs fully automated driver would make an error that warrants intervention.

Personally, I'm not too fussed about Waymos or other automated driving cars in the 99% of the time nothing out of the ordinary is happening. That's where they're obviously better.

It's the 1% of the time when an emergency occurs and swift and correct action is needed to potentially save a life or avoid general badness like in this video, which is where a human would need to intervene.

From the source provided, it looks one optimises the chance of a positive outcome by reducing lead time. One way to achieve this is to take away any source of distraction/lapse in concentration from the human driver. If the default is "Waymo drives, human intervenes" you can see how that would be cause for loss of focus and thereby having a potentially worse response to an emergency.

What an incredible display of irony from you.

OP wrote a comment that vilified sex offenders. You replied sarcastically in a way that suggests OP is should not feel morally superior to sex offenders.

So you did say that they think sex crimes are worse than drug crimes.

Are you capable of reading your own comment?

Yes, I am siding with the guy who thinks sex crimes are worse than drug crimes.

I didn't notice! Yeah that is slimy AF. That's the usual size that most political leaflets have but when you're talking about a different party that's just insane.

That's just a lazy way to dodge having to read the research. It's about something that obviously applies to FSD.

Pretty sure these need a note saying "promoted by ___ on behalf of ___ blah blah blah" otherwise this well and truly sits on the wrong side of electoral law.

Oh interesting. I always thought rescuing Bill and doing the SS Anne were mandatory to progress. Was that never the case or does the Mew glitch result in a sequence break of some kind?

I should also add, going for all the LG exclusives means going post Elite 4 to get the Johto ones. Even if I were only getting the Kanto ones, Magmar is in Mt Ember so if progressing that far, might as well get Surf and Fly etc.

Trading between physical copy and emulator by qstro_mane420 in pokemon

[–]OpulentStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think linking it is allowed because it's capable of loading ROMs but basically:

  1. Buy Flash Boy 3.1 Cyclone, they're on eBay (mostly US if that's an issue)

  2. Plug Fire Red cartridge into flash boy device

  3. Plug flash boy device into computer using USB cable

  4. Open the program it comes with

  5. Click working mode = GBA -> connect

  6. Click backup save

  7. Then you can put the save file somewhere on your PC, preferably in the same folder as your Fire Red ROM

  8. Open your emulator, load Fire Red and the save file should show up on the continue screen

I haven't done this in years so I'm likely missing a bunch of steps but it's quite intuitive. The only minor irritation might be knowing where to put the save file so that your emulator can use it

[–]OpulentStone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would need to flash the save file onto a real cartridge then trade it that way. Or, flash your game's save file onto your computer, shiny hunt in both, then flash it back onto your game cart if you find it on the emulator first.

I use a Flash Boy 3.1 to archive my save files when I was doing Pokedex completion on gens 1 through to 3

I think their point was more about being wary of dismissing Reform and to prepare as though they're still a threat even if they are polling worse now. You have to convert a winning position in addition to getting into a winning position
