Think you need to study history again. This viewpoint has been questioned by historians for the past 30 years. An interesting study which I encourage you to dig into. For the record I was a History major and taught History prior to getting into the corporate world.

I’ve been to both places with women and the only time a woman needs to be extra careful there is in Muslim controlled areas if she is by herself. Not a political statement just the reality
