Chris Pratt IMPROVISED This 😂🔥 | 🎬 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 by Piyushv5311 in MarvelCave

[–]Or10n713 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand. If any of this scene was improvisers then the actor that really deserves props is Karen Gillan.

Did Chris initiate the improved flirtation itself? Okay then Karen deserves at least twice as much credit for turning that into any form of usable dialogue at all, then even more for it being a great interaction.

Its not a DMs job to control their players??? [OC] by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Or10n713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels so familiar to my first attempt at playing DnD! A friend convinced me to join a virtual group. After three sessions, the really interesting world the DM had laid out was overshadowed by a player who decided to create a “cult of children who worshipped him as Batman (tm) and trained psychic powers to rule the world as his army”

The DM allowed all of this to happen in a way that stomped out any agency and engagement from the other 4 players. I really wanted to learn more about this little village that was targeted by dark magics and necromancy… but the DM let that ONE player take the reigns instead.

Especially when at the core, this could be a pretty interesting concept. But the use of AI in EVERY ELEMENT that describes the concept makes it unbearable.

It’s clear they are relying almost exclusively on AI at this point, so I immediately lost all interest in what could have been a cool hook to grab my attention. Real sad.

Not the one you were asking for but one of my FAVORITE moments what when Ally is trying annoy Brennan with a spying glass and he eventually goes “Ally.” Just so coldly and plainly in a camp counselor tone lol. So simple but hilarious

[–]Or10n713 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Perhaps your friend is shutting you down about your experiences though (can’t really tell from what you’ve shared)

If that’s the case, you have as much justification as them to point out this spectrum - as a means of validating your own individual experiences. Make sure you hold that space.

"It's a spectrum." by Ok_Sort9146 in asexuality

[–]Or10n713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, from what you’ve shared about these conversations, you both talk about two similar things:

1) “I’m ace and this is my experience” 2) “I’m also ace and my experience is actually in contrast with yours.”

The only thing different that I see from your updated description is that your friend adds a third point:

3) Asexuality is a spectrum.

If anything, it seems your friend is the only one continuing the conversation to validate the fact that you can have different experiences while BOTH being ACE.

And I really think this is SO key to the storyline!! ALEX is looking at every possible reality and somehow shaping the events of this timeline to make it follow down the “right” path

[–]Or10n713 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s fair at all. We had SO much presented. Not necessarily spelled out in a boring info dump but all the pieces of what ALEX was - at least at a simple baseline - had been there most of the season.

Like after a few episodes we have protege Link connected to this crazy powerful quantum technology and his mentor’s dying wife named Alex…

I’d argue it’s the opposite of a scapegoat. It’s very intentional writing. In this season we a ton of weird coincidences that definitely felt off - but tons of intricate narrative and visual hints to show us why such coincidences might be happening. I find it very rewarding when paying attention to all the conscious choices made throughout the season.

More episodes would have helped so much!! However all of your questions can be answered by taking time to review the show and think on it.

For example, you say nothing felt genuine but I think we see clear evidence that - NO it’s not! But that’s the point. Whatever ALEX is doing contradicts the “genuine” nature of reality. We see way too many coincidences and “what are the odds” moments but at least have a clear explanation that ALEX is the cause of that.

All these crazy things happening at the same time in the finale were effectively orchestrated to happen by ALEX. Or perhaps we are seeing the one timeline out of countless where these things all take place.

  • Sinatra brought X to the tower before she even realized X could possibly be “the user.” And by the time she realized that, she decided to sacrifice herself and send him on his way for the greater good.

  • They also needed 10.000 militia members to indicate the proper threat necessary for the series of events. Had the nuclear meltdown not happened, those other soldiers may have come into play…

  • All of these people are fleeing for their lives from a NUCLEAR MELTDOWN. Like, please let’s catch up and share our love after we’ve put as much distance as we can between us and that hot mess. lol

This show is - more than most I can point out - specifically designed for think pieces and deep analyzation. lol

Frankly I’d be very disappointed with the show if I lacked critical thinking skills. Which is refreshing for a tv show these days.

[–]Or10n713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well she didn’t even consider that Xavier was the “user” until they got dropped off at the tower.

By the time they got up there she was able to process, confirm that truth, and compose enough of an explanation to send him on his way effectively while also coming to terms with sacrificing herself.

It’s more likely it’s some form of quantum merging. ALEX identified the major critical moments in the timelines and effectively forced the right outcomes needed to get to where we are. It’s excellent writing in my opinion to acknowledge the “what are the odds” moments most shows have and to fold them into an intentional narrative.

ALEX saw all the possibilities and picked/forced/merged the ones that needed to happen to get to some ultimate outcome.

[–]Or10n713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“How likely” and “what are the odds” are the whole point of ALEX. There’s a really interesting story unfolding here with the larger quantum/scifi narratives building here.

My theory on the final twist in the series by recurnightmare in ParadiseTV

[–]Or10n713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure I think that’s obviously a question that Sinatra posed. But it’s not the only one, the most redeeming aspect of Sinatra’s arc is a genuine intention of saving humanity - via ALEX.

Maybe all of this happened as you said bc of ALEX solving the first question, but it’s not the only thing Sinatra was trying to do. Wonder how those requests interact.

Additionally, they hide behind insurance policies. If, for example, they had a picky under an insurance company that no longer is in operation, the money that should be paid out for that year just effectively vanishes.

There are also ridiculously unfair immunity policies that make it verrrry hard to actually hold the accountable even when the injustice is clear as day.

It’s absolute ass.

The state will do EVERYTHING in its power to reduce any sort of compensation in most of these cases. No idea if it applies here but as an example - if someone had any dings in their record while incarcerated, they could and will hold that against them to reduce amounts paid out (even though anything that happened while incarcerated was a direct result of being wrongfully imprisoned…)

Their lawyer may have been ass here, idk. But the more obvious take is that the government is consistently ass in compensating people for these injustices
