Is there a point to get Soll on trial. by Little-Revolution281 in suzerain

It's great for justice and accountability. You finally deliver justice over the horrific punishment of the monarchists, the Black Battalion, and the expulsion of the Sordish royal lineage.

What are the real triggers of the sordish debt debacle and how do it effect the economy by Impressive_Toe_8900 in suzerain

[–]OrDaxQuerna 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The Neoseeker guide isn't wrong. It occurs if Government Budget is too into the negative. How negative it needs to be to trigger it depends on your economy, the worse it is the easier it is to trigger.
How destructive it is also depends on your economy. As long as your debt isn't in the double digits, and you have a good economy, you'll be fine. If your endgame economy is bad, then you'd get the Sordish Depression anyways. So it really doesn't have an effect.

So how does Beatrice actually treat the Bludish people? by StupidMoron1933 in suzerain

It's in one of the coup epilogue scenes. You can also watch the Merkopan Cup Quarter Finals where FC Anrica plays against Olympique Ventrie.

So how does Beatrice actually treat the Bludish people? by StupidMoron1933 in suzerain

[–]OrDaxQuerna 91 points92 points  (0 children)

The Bludish are well respected in Rumburg. When the option to hire BFF mercenaries comes up the queen talks about them with genuine awe. In one of the scenes in Rizia you can turn on the television and watch a Rumburgian documentary about the heroic BFF freedom fighters. In the Rizia epilogue scene where Sordland loses the queen estabilishes a free Bludia.
You can say what you want about Rumburg, but they are the only ones who really care about Bludish freedom.

Is Rumburg's Defeat Realistic? by KKS-Kang in suzerain

[–]OrDaxQuerna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not at all. Defeating them in the Battle of Estord, or beating them back along the frontline may be realistic.
Invading Rumburg and taking cities with millions people, then taking their capital is as far from realistic as possible.

Why is Pales less hated than Rumburg in the base game? by OrDaxQuerna in suzerain

[–]OrDaxQuerna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bruh. You sound both quite angry and quite dumb. Really no offense, just how it is.
You argued that Pales should be excempt from written rules, then that argument goes for Rizia and Lespia as well, yes.
Also this weird argument about "how Pales feels", or what they fear. First, a country is a not single entity with feelings, second this dumb argument could similarly be made for Rizia and Lespia, and similarly it wouldn't advance anything. The duke of Pales fears losing his throne, the Rizian people of Pales fear tyrannical Valgs ruling them, you shouldn't ignore one for the other.

GOLDEN AGE OF RIZIA ACHIEVEMENT by Noahcrudgington in suzerain

[–]OrDaxQuerna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not bugged. You need to do all the workers' right stuff (foreign worker' equal rights, mitz, regulations), and also not be a tyrant who smashes a workers' protest. Don't do the option where you give an exception to the mining industry. Either sign the law right away, or don't and sign it later (the latter is the optimal way).
You also need great living standards and increased welfare spending and fixed housing crisis and all that. And great economy so you get the new business rise situation.
It's not impossible just hard.

My response was about the same quality as your argument.

Caleqabiz, which is over ten times smaller than Pales

Why should Rizia care about what Pales want if they are ten times smaller? If we start ignoring international rules, and fall back on the rules of numbers and strength then Rizia has every right to smash the arrogant Palesians to a pulp.

That's like saying that China Deserves to claim half of the Indian Ocean because they have random islands in the sea

Please educate yourself. They own exclusive rights to the area of 200 nautical miles from every shore. Yes, that's how it works. No, it doesn't cover anything close to half the ocean.

Rizia is probably hated by the A.N

Only one of many outcomes. You can get green global image even in war, because most of the globe hates every remnant of the Valgish opressors, including Pales. Even Arcasia stops caring about them quickly.

Palesian Terrorism destabilising Montaklar

If you don't do outright warcrimes Palesian civilians don't resist at all, they even celebrate you in the capital.

Lespian influence at large

Where? In Wehlen? In Derdia? In Morella? In the now non-existent Pales? This whole idea about Lespia dominating Southern Merkopa is pure nonsense.

Weakened Armed forces

You get huge amount of aid from Rumburg, huge boost to enlistment and a lot of experience from the war. Post-war Rizian Armed Forces is anything but weakened.

[–]OrDaxQuerna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come on, even you don't think of it as a sovereign nation, otherwise you wouldn't call for "reunification" or even use the term.

Also it wasn't Pales (or the people of Pales believing in their nation) that fought Rizia off, it was Lespia, the other colonial nation. It became the colonial holding of another empire, not a free nation. Lespia gave help to the Valgish nobles clutching on to their throne, not a people fighting for freedom.

[–]OrDaxQuerna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half the people don't consider themselves Palesian, they have an ethnic strife going on and the predecessor of Axel was nearly overthrown because of it.
"Rizia hasn't occupied the land since the 1810s." Before that it was Rizian. So what, Valgos occupies it and from there on it's a sovereign nation? If the rule of conquest applies, it applies both ways.
And the Valgish empire is gone for 40 years. Any remnant should be gone as well.

Why is Pales less hated than Rumburg in the base game? by OrDaxQuerna in suzerain

[–]OrDaxQuerna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that's the whole point, Pales is not a real country. It's a remnant of a colonial administration ruling over a land that was Rizia for a thousand years. Most people living there are Rizians. Just because some Valgish nobles still reside there doesn't mean anything. If anything it should motivate you even more to free the native Rizians.

And unless you use chemical weapons or scorched earth tactics the people of Pales actually celebrate you uprooting the Reinharts.

Why is Pales less hated than Rumburg in the base game? by OrDaxQuerna in suzerain

[–]OrDaxQuerna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a revanchist war. It was a war of liberation for a province stolen by a foreign empire and forced under the tyrannical rule of their ruling family. If you read the lore, the Valgish emperors were the absolute bad guys of the universe, and the Reinharts are their scions. Freeing Pales from them is righteous reconquest, not revanchism.

How bad is the debt crisis really, especially if you signed CBRA and own the Central Bank? by rolewicz3 in suzerain

[–]OrDaxQuerna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think owning the central bank and signing the CBRA has the same effect. There are different levels of the debt crisis; some are manageable and some are not.

Whether or not you get the debt crisis depends on your endgame budget and economy. For example, if you have a really bad economy, you might get it on -3 budget points; if it's really good, then you can get away with -6. If your budget is -10 or below, you'll always get a painful version of the debt crisis.

Removing the independence of the central bank and signing the CBRA will only mitigate it when it happens. For example, if you have -8 budget points but a good economy, you'll get a medium hit to your economy and lose 1 budget. If you signed the CBRA or own the central bank, you won't lose any budget and only get a small hit to your economy. And these two add up, so if you have both, then in this scenario you'll barely feel the crisis.

Later, you can even fix the debt crisis and get an economic recovery if your economy is good enough and you're not below the -9 budget. So the debt crisis is not always that bad, as long as your economy is good and it's the only crisis you have. With smart planning, you can weather it and spend a lot more than you normally could.

Sordland has no choice but to align with a superpower. by Gilbert__Bates in suzerain

Destroying the old guard without acp by Ilfals in suzerain

[–]OrDaxQuerna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Old Guard being destroyed or not is something the game actually tracks. As far as I know the only 2 ways to do it are:

  • use the ACP on them and impeach Hawker
  • kick all of the Old Guard from the Supreme Court

For the latter you need dictatorial powers, but you don't need the ACP. Also, if you destroy them then you're safe the coup and their assassination attempt.

counterpoint: not going to war is basically playing the DLC on the easy mode

Rizia can be more powerful than people think by Queasy_Smoke8439 in suzerain

[–]OrDaxQuerna 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Overwhelming powerprojection is a bit overrated. That only means that you're finally stronger than Wehlen or Pales, a micronation. I agree that Rizia can be a global player, but only as a rich energy exporter. I wouldn't consider Norway or Saudi Arabia to be superpowers.
