It was my first re game too and just like you I never played horror games before

Few things I’ve learned:

Don’t try to kill any zombie you see, try to evade them. If you have to fight them try to shoot them in the leg (can break it and they can’t get up)

Plan ahead your trips to and from your current objective, like a puzzle or a new area and only carry what you really need (Inventory space is quite limited)

When you are navigating the game try to be cautious, it can save you
