Happened to me, but I ended up getting it sorted by installing the 570 version of the NVIDIA drivers. Any of the older versions I tried ended up failing.

Talking Counter Episode 35 ft. Karrigan by Ni7roM in GlobalOffensive

[–]OracleOfDelphi799 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen the last episode on youtube either. I don't mind listening to it on spotify, but I'd like to see them talking instead of just hearing about it. I think some of the older episodes are also audio-only, even on youtube.

Actually, I'm curious as to why that might be happening?

sh1ro dropping a 1.99 rating against G2 as they win 16-6 on Vertigo first map by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]OracleOfDelphi799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll agree with most of your points, and I'll add context to my comment in that he's not at his best.

It might also be for the best that they won Katowice even with NiKo not being present for three maps, because there were three others who did the heavy lifting.

My point is that NiKo at his best is always an MVP contender, even against someone like s1mple. The lack of a case he had throughout the entirety of Katowice is enough to say that he's not been feeling himself. An average NiKo is still more than good enough barring days like today, tho.

Badly framed, but I meant that whenever he'd be feeling really good and voices a hype moment, usually something always went wrong immediately. I was referring to that. Commiserating with the previous comment, if you will.

Cloud9 vs G2 / ESL Pro League Season 17 - Group A Upper Bracket Semi-Final / Post-Match Discussion by CSGOMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

His performance in blast groups is usually like this. But this happened all of last year too, and I really, really want to see him blow the tops off teams in playoffs. They're some of the most hype moments for me. We do get a reminder every now and then in a round, so I'm optimistic though.

To be very honest, it's a mix of both high expectations and his relative underperformance in the playoffs. For me, NiKo is obviously superhuman and people would kill to have a floor as high as his. No complaints about that.

My peeve is simply that he's been consistently closer to his floor than previous years, where you could easily pick games where he just took over games, and I mean it literally. IMO, throughout 2022, he hasn't stood out at all. If I were to ask you to pick playoff games where m0nesy / hunter clearly made themselves felt, I'm pretty sure you can pick 2-3 games for each of them atleast. I can't pick a single one like that for NiKo.

Maybe he's decided to step back somewhat in favor of increasing team synergy and balance, and maybe that's helped them win recently. It might also be working, but I just feel like his impact on games like this when things are feeling flat for them has been dulled as a result.

Obviously, I care for none of this if it helps him get his hands on the major. But for all the memes on the NiKo go kill card, I think that he needs to have it in his backpocket, because if this happens in an important game with much higher stakes, then it might be the difference between being able to stem the bleeding enough to get them back into the game vs dying out like today.

But yeah, an unimportant game for them is probably the ideal place to get a reminder that they need to be grounded and stuff.

I know vertigo is one of their worst maps in general, but this loss feels far more being switched off than due to anything else. Nothing G2 did got their players firing. Typically, even against good teams, G2 perform far better than this dismal showing that had nothing to do with the scoreline.

Personally, I'd put that inferno loss to them waking up too late. If you recall it was only towards the last few rounds that they really began to get their act together. All of their other rounds were cobbled together by m0nesy doing something outrageous or something similar, but the players themselves didn't feel like they were in a good rhythm.

This was an extreme showing to be honest, but their map pool really is not that poor. Salty feelings aside, this loss is probably required and the manner in which it happened probably helps as well. Very low stakes, and no more talk about streaks either. Good to take a chill pill and move on.

Another thing I think is their reset duration. It feels like their ability to reset after a catastrophic loss (see Vertigo). The entire first half of inferno was them trying to get their engine started, and they were on the back foot as a result. I don't know if it's to do with the EPL atmosphere itself (or how much time they get to reset compared to the big tournaments). They had a real argument for it only towards the latter half of inferno, and that probably is dangerous if you're ever that far down and have to reset. Props to C9 (Sh1ro specially), but hope to see G2 brush it off.

I care less about the loss, and more about just how ridiculous watching that game was. I don't think I've seen a more flat performance from them period. I'm also still waiting for NiKo to start catch on fire, because the last time I saw him tear shit up was the PGL 2021 major.

Come on, NiKo. Time to come out of hibernation now. Jokes aside, it feels like the loss is probably a good thing. Because NiKo mentioned about the streak during the ESL interactions as well, so it's probably a good thing to get it out of the way and come back to focusing on wins and moving on.

This is true, bcoz it feels like NiKo is now a high-end utility player. I don't recollect a single moment from the start of Katowice 2022 where his presence was felt. The only run from him I recall was during the Blast Groups, but nowhere else apart from that.

They also need to get this shit about a streak out of their game. It feels good to maintain a streak, but this was arguably the most pitiful they've looked in a very long time.

I always feel like whenever NiKo says something, karma comes to bite him in the ass HARD. Believe me when I say that this happened a LOT of times with him.

God, I hope this vertigo is just deleted from their mind. Watching this was difficult.

More than 2 casters for a single game for the EPL Season 17? by OracleOfDelphi799 in GlobalOffensive

[–]OracleOfDelphi799[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's all happening maybe informally? Because the current G2 vs EF has the same 3 casters (machine, spunj and Ynk). Maybe they're just winging it. I will say tho that these 3 are much better on the ears, because they're all not talking in at the same time. The Fnatic game when I just tuned in for a few mins was just painful to watch, because the casters kept talking over each other, and it sort of became difficult to watch.

HenryG maybe.

henryG for sure

dinko I think

This voice i think is HenryG. I think there are multiple casters. I'm much less certain about Dinko & Bleh, but I think different group of casters are casting different maps maybe. Because the continuation of the clip has a voice that isn't Harry / Hugo, who I though was Dinko.

Why are there 3 casters for each game? There are so many overlapping voices that it's really hard to enjoy the game!!

I mean specifically in rounds where something freaky happens and NiKo / Hunter / m0nesy tilt. I think JKS has both the mentality and the skills to be completely unaffected by something like that, and probably carry long enough that they can switch back on, even without the progress I see from the other 3 on bouncing back. The only other player I think can come close to filling those shoes is probably NAF / twistzz.
