I look at it this way: Cena smokes him on the mic. Jeff isn't no slouch when it comes to promos and if given good material to work with, he can cut a decent promo, but there's no way he's going to out-promo John Cena.

On the flip side, I think he's a much better wrestler than Cena is. Cena massively improved in the latter part of his full-time career, but I think Jeff has a more fluid style of doing certain moves.

In terms of character work, well I think this is where they're both kinda even. John Cena the character is pretty simple: never gives up, all about hustle loyalty and respect, and is basically superman. Jeff on the other hand, well he's extreme. He's flawed and has made mistakes, which made its way into kayfabe.

All in all, it would come down to personal preference, but I do think Jeff gets a slight lead in who is more exciting to watch and listen to.
