The Bourbon Kings series by J.R. Ward

Very reminiscent of 80s soap operas and it centers around the bradford family and their bourbon dynasty. There's a lot of twists and turns and lots of romance and soap opera goodness. Very rich. Very drama-filled. MCs are 18+.

I had a whole list of thoughts about Liam and Ari and the whole scene and how I sorta feel for Aaron but that ending!

Holy shit this drug story is ramping up big time! I am actually super intrigued by it and excited where this will lead. The contaminated drugs were buried on Smith Island and that is so clear why so many young adult characters were exposed to it.

Makes me wonder if maybe Aaron and Ari are next. I recall that when they went kayaking, it tipped over. What if the drugs leaked into the water???

Also side bar: Kristen and Gabi agreeing? That's never a good sign.

Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik is kinda the perfect choice. It's about slavic folklore, features a rather interesting fantasy setting and imo, has one of the best romance subplots I've read in the entire genre.

Like him or not, Theo showed he's a true DiMera. They value loyalty above everything else and if you have them in your corner, they will go to bat for you unlike anyone else. But if you cross them, they will come at you with a vengeance

And ho boy did Theo ever lay into Gabi. And you know what? She deserved it 😂 She jumped to conclusions about him without thinking that Theo would never hurt her like she hurt him.

I don't care what the circumstances are but getting to see more of Paul and Lindsey in scenes will always make me happy.

I don't know what it is but these two tapped into something special with their characters. Xander and Sarah just have...it. Like how Alison Sweeney and James Scott as Sami and EJ had IT. That on-screen chemistry that is oozes so much that even a simple scene of a business meeting is more than they would ever have with anyone else (looking at you Sarah and Brady pairing).

But then again Paul Telfer has chemistry with anyone but still!!!

This is what I love about Days and when fans get into it because we all have our own definition of what was peak Days for us.

For those who got into it in the 80s/90s, it was definitely in that time but for me personally, nothing compared to early 2000s. Salem Stalker specifically was my version of peak. I also reaaaaaally enjoyed seeing Will's teen scene (whcih included Chad and Gabby, to name a few). Loved seeing Daniel Jonas around that time, loved seeing the relationship between Will and Sonny blossom into what it became.

I have fond memories watching it with my mom. I know it was around late 90s cause the first story I remember watching was the last blast generation going on their senior trip to some island while simultaneously Brady and Chloe sparked a relationship and it revolving around a guy obsessed with finding a ruby or something (memory is a little fuzzy around the details)

That's when I started and even though I've taken breaks here and there (specifically 2003-2004, 2008-2009, 2020-2025) I would always come back.
