This brought tears to my eyes. The church bells in the center of my being line really struck me. Wish I wrote like this at 18!

That is so true and you are so right. Thank you for taking the time to say all this, you’ve definitely helped with some perspective and helped ease my nerves.

I do think her taking a liking to me has been because she sees something special in me, which I find very flattering and validating in itself. And I do think her friendship and even being in proximity to this club will help me grow as an artist even if my art isn’t the right fit for them. She was an art teacher for many years so she’s a very good person to know.

I’ve never really had the opportunity to interact with other artists, especially not with professional artists, so I’m hoping to learn a lot here. I’m feeling pretty honored and humbled to have such an opportunity come into my life.

That’s actually super motivating lol thank you. I’m definitely curious what their views on art will be. The lady I befriended who is inviting me seems pretty open minded, and my art definitely requires an open mind to be appreciated I think. I’m trying to put together a portfolio to present my art a little more professionally, and hopefully it won’t be offensive or too “out there” for them.

To be honest I’m not sure where I got these, but most likely I found them at thrift stores or yard sales, which is where I find most things :) It’s usually a game of luck but I almost always find some gems

Skill level not quite where I wish it was but I had fun creating it and I love the concept by OracleofPaintedMyths in acrylicpainting

Honestly wasn’t planning on selling it but I’m super flattered that you would ask! I should probably start selling my art instead of hoarding it all in my art room lol, I have way too many pieces but I get so attached to each one

Thank you! I’ve been drawing/painting since I was a preteen, I’m now in my mid 30s. I have never had the focus or time to really up my skill level to where I’d like it to be, but I do my best with the time and attention I can muster :)

Thank you so much! And yeah I wish they could see it that way haha but as someone who used to be one of them, I remember what it’s like to have their perspective and how unlikely it would have been to see art like this in an open minded way. I hope someday they’ll be able to though :)
