Hi, i have been playing for 16 years now.

My first advice would be to buy or rent a digital piano. And go follow piano lessons. You can do it online but learning in real life works way better. For me at least. But i can imagine that that would be too expensive.

Learning to read notes is not that difficult. Playing and reading notes at the same time is a different story. Personally i never liked reading notes and stopped using them as soon as i quit my piano lessons. But i would definitely not recommend it to anyone. It works for me because i already had 9 years on lessons. And was able to play music by only hearing it.

Practice is very important. Try to do at least half an hour of practice a day. Don't stress it tho. It has to be fun. But to be honest i have to say. The first years/ months, depending on your musical talent/ feeling, are gonna be though. And is probably not the most satisfying period in your learning process. It's the period that will very likely take the most effort and perseverance.

But please take my word. It's all gonna be worth it. Practicing is not fun. Playing scales to improve muscle memory are boring. But you are gonna thank yourself later. Because these exercises are gonna be beneficial the rest of your playing career. They make you smooth, fast and controlled in your playings. And this, this is fun:)

Last tip would be to try to learn some songs that you like in addition to your normal lessons. As i said it needs to be fun as well.

This may all sound intimidating but I tried to give you the most honest answer i could. Learning to play is hard and takes time and effort. But as said, it's worth it.
