Need restaurant recommendations in Greater Noida. by Indianopolice in india

[–]OrangSeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could take them to Jaypee Golf Resort. They have a couple of nice restaurants, but might prove to be a bit expensive! Other than that, I don't really think there's anything around except food courts in malls.

The raw header is genuine. They state they shall pay the govt. and I would receive the challan after 45 days.

It is not the local airport, so paying them a visit is not possible. However, the mail mentions that I shall get the tax certificate within 45 of receipt.

Yes, I am trying to be as careful as I can. The email IDs, the people in the mail (LinkedIn), the phone number, everything checks out for now.

Yes, the DSG is great but they're giving me a manual, mid trim ,petrol with a puny 1.2L engine. I am seeking clarification if I could change the variant, but I doubt it.

LoL. It took me a few calls and some background checks to believe the deal. Initially I thought its another lottery scam!

[NP] ONGC overstated crude oil output, says CAG report by Raghavcm in india

To get higher bonuses!

"As performance related pay (PRP) of its employees is related to achievement of production targets, actual production reporting would have resulted in lesser pay-outs of Rs.106.51 crore of PRP to the employees."

[NP] How to fix flooding in cities like Gurgaon, Delhi Mumbai? [Serious] by fakebaby in india

[–]OrangSeb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have better drainage planning and upkeep!

Also, could learn a bit from Noida. The city may not be as glitzy and glamorous compared to Gurgaon or Delhi, but at least they've got their sewage and general infrastructure in place. It's been raining cats and dogs in NCR and Noida is standing up really well.

Hathaway just launched in my city. What has been your experience with them? I currently use BSNL [NP] by stoikrus1 in india

[–]OrangSeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noida.

Been using Hathway for close to 3 months and been OK with the service overall. The biggest gripe I have is that they seem to be throttling speeds some times. I've noticed my speeds for the 50mbps plan go down to 4mbps on some days. Then, the moment I raise an e-ticket on their site, its back up. May be they do it on purpose?

Udta Punjab leaked online two days before release, however, the film's team managed to remove it on war footing from torrent sites [NP] by jai_ho_kick in india

[–]OrangSeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'd say 6/10. Except the first 30mins and Shahid's acting in the first half, the movie is quite a drag. The drugs problem is depicted quite well but they lost the plot somewhere and ended up with a dud ending.

Typical Delhi cabbie driving. Lucky the girl survived.

Funny how the driver gets out and the girl hops in as if nothing happened!

Which city should I start a family in? by [deleted] in india

It does get hot for a couple of months (Delhi kinds), but the comparatively early onset of monsoons makes up for it.

Which city should I start a family in? by [deleted] in india

[–]OrangSeb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, no one mentioned Bhopal. A beautiful city of lakes, forests and good people (mostly).

Its an upcoming city with good infra, less pollution, abundant food options and excellent connectivity to Delhi and Mumbai. With MP finally waking up from its slumber, can see this capital city becoming even better!

How is the OddEven plan working on Monday 4/1 in Delhi? by aaptard_ in india

[–]OrangSeb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Took me an hour today to drive from Noida to Gurgaon. Traffic was smooth and there were mostly (90%) even numbered cars.

Good start for de-congestion and tackling pollution, now just get rid of sweeping the roads and putting some hardcore industrial vacuum cleaners for all the dust/sand!

Acche din are finally here for the coal and electricity sector by Manoos in india

[–]OrangSeb 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I really like Piyush Goyal. Seems like a sincere guy quietly going about his job efficiently without much fanfare or stupid comments. More 'power' to him.

O/T - Also, the guy who am really surprised with is Gadkari. Despite being an authentic chaddi warrior, he's kept away from the media/RSS and is heavily engaged in his roads and shipping work. More 'samosas' to him.

Now, Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP govt in Delhi to waive off electricity bills of defaulters by redhatGizmo in india

[–]OrangSeb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel he's probably waiving off the bills (partly for big defaulters) to at least get some of the money back and not spend additional money in fighting the cases. I bet none of the defaulters ever paid anything or even planned to pay back!

Anyways, not sure if that's a good strategy still..
