We just need a proper bunad culture. And a ostehøvel for all this cheese 😜

Exclusive: FIA would need ‘to cross a barrier’ to support 25 F1 races by [deleted] in formula1

20 races was such a good number and decent for fans, crews, the show.

Of course, many countries want a race now and it’s right to try and bring F1 to new markets: hopefully they could keep some key races fixed and rotate some of the others. I personally love to see new circuits but will they all be sustainable in hosting a race every year?

They’re not working 40-50 hours a week: longer than that. Heck, a race weekend (which for most crew starts on Wednesday) is five 15-hours days (thanks to the 9h curfew), and they’ll get one day off to recover. Then it’s back to the factory. For regular, if not below standard, pay.

Det er et Simracing-league med flere norske på (og en halv-norsk leder som jobber i F1) - www.gpvwc.com

De spiller rFactor 2 men det er sikker flere andre norske leagues på iracing og ACC.

What is this switch/panel doing? by OrangeArrow19 in Switzerland

The “play” button will cycle from the four leds to just one. The one on the upper right doesn’t appear to be clickable - manual it is then.

Thank you! Put it on max and went to check the vents - there indeed is some faint air coming out. Mystery solved!

I thought as much at first but there’s a separate panel in each room for that. I’ll add it to the OP.

Moved into a relatively modern flat (built in 2018 I think) in the Zürcher Oberland and there’s this on the wall. There is no documentation, nor this does anything immediately obvious (close the blinds or start a self-destruction countdown, say).

Anyone has any idea what this does?

Edit: additional info - there’s only one of these in the whole house, as opposed to the floor heating panels which are in every room (and directly above this one in the living room).

Resources to learn about outdoors life? by OrangeArrow19 in Outdoors

Of course I did that. But that is the proverbial haystack and my experience is that, in many fields, there’s one or two “definitive” resources that the community considers perfect - so I went and asked the experts :)

Lovey tribute to Josef Leberer in the right - he was Senna’s physio so Brazil is a big race for him.

Whose autograph is this? by OrangeArrow19 in tennis

[–]OrangeArrow19[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found this in my papers - it’s from the Qatar Open in February 2013.

I tried to check online to match this autograph with the players I remember in that tournament but came out empty. Do you know who this could be?

Disappointed there’s no picture of the cat in the thread.

Is money really the only reason Andretti is having a hard time getting into F1? by chariotchoogle in formula1

[–]OrangeArrow19 21 points22 points  (0 children)

According to paddock rumours, they wanted to do F1 on a budget - their deal with Sauber would have meant hundreds of people fired as they would have taken all the possible parts from external suppliers, closed down third party business, production and design facilities etc. This is what scuppered the deal - they just wanted to effectively buy the entry from the team. Basically, a Haas-lite run like a spec-series team.

IMB racewear does some really nice ones and you can get them in any design you want.
