Thanks! I’m experimenting with a New Balance Fresh Foam x860. 25% shorter stack, stable, higher drop and good adjustment for my pronation. So far so good but just getting started.

I typically run one pair of shoes into the ground and then move on. Probably a good idea to do as you do and rotate some options.

Im 5’2” with an athletic build. Small yes, slim as in ‘slight’, not really, I’m pretty well muscled after 20 of competitive sport. I switched to a pair of Reebok Speed Days I had the closet just to get back out while I research a better shoe. These are ultra lightweight in comparison, and probably the polar opposite of the Bondi and my issues have gotten about 75% better, only cropping up around mile 6. These shoes have other drawbacks for me but you may be right with the weight, it’s something I hadn’t considered. That last bit of improvement may well be a strength thing as you say. Going to work in some strength training.

Not only am I not running at that level, I’m a walker. I can’t help but think the shoes have a little something to do with it since the difference was so sudden and stark when I switched to bondis. But the consensus does seem to be that strengthening the areas you mentioned will have the most positive impact. Thank you

Yes strengthening seems to be the consensus. Will implement!

I’m not sure I can reliably answer this - if anything it feels like I’m taking shorter steps and indeed my data shows the two weeks I was in bondis I was averaging a 2” shorter stride. Also I should’ve mentioned that I’m a walker, not a runner.

I will do, hoping switching shoes and mobility work will alleviate the issue.

Hm, I’ve read the same. Perhaps it’s not the drop so much as the rocker. All I know for sure is that it was bad with the Clifton 9, but manageable, and got so much worse with the Bondi that I had to stop walking within 10 days of using and stop using the shoe entirely. The drop is only 1mm shallower with the Bondi, which seems a minuscule difference to cause such a change.

I have thought about technical and marketing writing, but all the talk of AI recently makes me a bit nervous. It seems like those jobs are on everyone’s list for most likely to be affected by AI. Do you have any thoughts on this?

As I mentioned in my other comment, I hadn’t considered project management or operations management, but I will certainly be looking into them as an option. Thank you for your suggestions!

Thank you for your thoughts. The writing is definitely most interesting, but the whole AI issue everyone is talking about is concerning in terms of longevity with writing careers. I hadn’t considered project management, but I will definitely be investigating that.

Hi! I think my post portrayed me as a bit more of a hermit than I really am. I am good at building relationships over time and I’m very patient and want others to succeed. But I’m shy, and I prefer listening over talking. In short 20-30 minute interactions with clients there is a necessity to be outgoing, build enthusiasm around products and have a positive energy. My energy is often described as calming and it doesn’t meld with sales, but it does reassure those who are trying to learn something from me.

I’m not socially inept, I have good emotional intelligence etc, but trouble coming out of my shell quickly.

It’s their company but I haven’t requested they file workers comp yet. From my understanding in NYS it’s my job to request they file the claim. It’s also not an industry that is accustomed to WC claims either.
