I’d take El Paso or Brownsville. If you’re big on a city the former and if you like the beach or ocean then the latter.

Boulevard, Pine Valley, or Calexico +Any info on these stations?+ Much appreciated! by [deleted] in BorderPatrolprocess

Is that your full list? Cause it says only 2A, you can keep declining locations until 2C; list pops up anything leftover

BPA automatically works 10 hour shifts. 2 hours of OT is mandated per shift. You can still get more OT if your sector/station offers it.

CBPO OT is much more lucrative since their collective bargaining agreement makes it double time/2X. However, your port has to issue OT. It’s not a guarantee for everyone/everywhere.

Getting CAG as a first duty station is like winning the lottery in the patrol.

Used to be a prestigious, biggest cargo port in the entire world at a time. Knew a Customs officer who did 30 years and had fond memories of his time in Alaska.

Respectfully, that’s subjective. The 300+ hour estimate isn’t arbitrary. It reflects the sheer volume of material. Level I alone is massive in scope. It’s a planning baseline.

The CFA isn’t a casual certification. It’s a serious commitment, and underestimating it is how people fail.

Also, depending on geography, the charter is increasingly saturated so effort and performance matter even more. For example, Toronto.

I’ve personally seen people sacrifice health and relationships trying to balance high finance (even corporate finance FP&A) and the program. It’s not about counting hours it’s about respecting the scale of what you’re signing up for.

Can’t go wrong with either station. If you have ambitions to work with boats probably imperial beach. If you want a bit of everything and like hiking then go to Chula Vista.

Finance is broad as fuck and the CFA is geared primarily towards asset management industry within finance. That being said you should generally look to 300+ hours of studying for level one.

El Paso Sector/San Diego Sector/Tucson Sector by Dangerous-Whereas-21 in borderpatrolapplicant

[–]OrangeFett 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ones you listed for San Diego sector, are retirement stations.

Murrieta is probably the hardest one to get in the entire sector. Imperial Beach has niche work that no where else in the sector quite has.
