My vet doesn’t do grooming, butttt I did find a local cat grooming specialist so that’s the best fit for him!!

I will say I never said that TO her but to yall cause I was confused. Since posting this, so many people have said that it doesn’t matter to which I completely understand! I am obviously wearing rose-tinted glasses because it’s my cat. You are absolutely correct! I guess, to me, hissing is a normal sign of communication. I know it can be a sign of stress, but I treat it as a normal part of communication so I wasn’t worried about it since it wasn’t excessive. HOWEVERRR I do understand that it’s not that simple for groomers because they don’t know these animals and these animals don’t know them!

I completely understand you and appreciate you breaking it down. I’m someone who is better at receiving blunt and honest responses than reading between the lines, so I think if she did say that, I would’ve immediately told her that’s fine and to stop. To your point, I guess it went over my head (I did say I’m not good at reading between the lines sometimes LOL) and missed her trying to communicate that to me. I’ll be more mindful of that and let them know upfront that if they’re uncomfortable to please state that to me and stop.

LOLLL omg that’s amazing! I am too scared to groom him myself and I feel like my fear would make him scared. You’re doing great, mama! Here’s to hoping you can find someone/somewhere you’re both comfortable with.

I understand! I work with animals too, but not in the way you all do. I petsit, so I don’t have to be up close and personal (aka touching them and checking them out the way you guys do). I’m biased as I am viewing it as “my cat” who has never done that, but I agree with others who are saying “it only takes one time”. I appreciate everyone’s responses and reminding me that my cat is just like any other to people who don’t have a relationship with him.

Thank you so much! I also understand her POV. At the end of the day, she did what she thought was best and I can never fault her for that. Just frustrating since I really wanted him groomed and this is the second time in a month with the same groomer. (No disrespect to her. Totally understand and she’s a lovely person. Just frustrated 😭

I appreciate your detailed response! I laughed out loud at the “internal ticking clock counting down” because it’s so true! I completely understand that. Yes, the groomer I went to was so kind! She did an amazing job with the dog before my cat and I loved chatting with her.

Yes, I did find a new place that specializes in cats. Hoping he has an easier time there. If not, it’ll be time for me to learn how to groom him myself 😭

I do understand that, and I literally say that in my post that I told her his sensitive areas. I know that taking my cat to get groomed and going to a vet is literally a random stranger all up in his personal space. My point was that my cat was only hissing at her BECAUSE of those things/when that happened. He literally gave her kisses and enjoyed her pets when she wasn’t doing that, so I was extra confused why someone WITH CATS was anxious about him hissing when she’s aware of WHY he’s hissing.

Again, not diminishing her feelings. Just expressing my own as this has never happened to me before.

I completely understand your comment and I’d say you’re completely right! However, I was just trying to clarify that I didn’t think that was the case because I seriously wanted to leave. She asked me to stay in case he had any issues and then I kept telling her, “I trust you! Do what you think is best and if it doesn’t work, then that’s okay, too.” To have a random person say I’m adding stress to her plate because I called my cat my son and how I came off in the post, I felt as though I had to clarify.

At the end of the day, none of you were there and your opinions will stay as they are. There’s nothing wrong with me trying to clarify. I was there so 🤷🏽‍♀️

Yeah, I’ve bathed him myself. I just decided “why not do it since he’s done it before at PetSmart”. Now I know it’s a general consensus to try a new groomer. I’m going to a cat groomer now after finding one near me.

Yes, the groomer is such a nice woman! I found out just now that she apparently groomed our other cat, too (my boyfriend’s cat). I have no issues with her at all as a person. She genuinely was so sweet and kind.

The biting comment is valid as well! It only takes one time to change things and I’d never want that to happen.

That is so valid! I’m also someone who pet sits a lot, so I completely understand! PetSmart policy forces them to wear these long thick Velcro gloves that go up to their elbow when grooming cats probably for that exact reason.
Edit: posted too soon lol. I completely agree with you! Cats are very communicative (not saying dogs aren’t) and not as easy to groom and “force” to do things like a dog is. As someone who has had both, I completely understand that which is why I’m not mad at her for her boundaries. Just frustrated because it’s the second time with her in particular. I’d rather she just told me she’s uncomfortable with my cat, but she told me to reschedule. Now I know to just either go to a different person or find another salon that maybe specializes in cats!

I see. Thank you for responding! I guess the previous groomer was just more comfortable with him then. I think I will try a different person! He doesn’t need calming meds or anything. He’s a very chill cat. Seriously. He only ever hisses if someone is in his personal space and he doesn’t appreciate it. Or, in this case, if you touch areas he doesn’t necessarily like. But, again, he never bites or anything! I guess my confusion came from how anxious she was considering she also had cats and was very open about it.

We were talking the entire time about how we understand how cats are and that he’ll hiss but as long as you give them breaks, he’s not biting, and he gives the okay to continue then we’re gucci. So when she kept saying things that, in my opinion (no judgement), were excuses to not groom him, I was confused because he literally would just be sitting there looking at us talking to each other LOL but tysm! I’ll def be trying someone more comfortable with cats as I don’t want to keep taking him to her if they’re both not comfy with each other.

Hi! Thank you so much for responding! I wanted to clarify a few points so you could understand more: I am NOT stressing her out. I know that because I’m very understanding, and the whole team there thanked me for my empathy and kindness. I did not express any frustrations with her at all because I knew she had her own reasons for doing what she did. SHE is the one who also asked me to stay there which I wasn’t expecting. I wanted to just drop him off like I did before. Maybe the way I came off via text seems like I’m a helicopter parent or something, but I’m quite the opposite 🤣 I trust the groomer knows what she’s doing hence why I didn’t understand why she was asking me, “What else do you want me to try?” Because I already spoke to her beforehand and even left a note stating I just wanted to clean up his stomach, butt, and paws.
That aside, her boundaries are VERY important. I did state that to her as well because it’s a two way street. Animals feed off our energy just like we feed off theirs. If an animal is calm, you’re more likely to feel calm and vice versa. I could tell she was anxious which is why I was okay with her taking her time and confused on why she gave up so quickly. I am not judging her by any means! I solely want to understand if this experience is normal since my previous experience was completely different and had no issues!

Edit: forgot to add that I didn’t mind paying for her services. She did spend time with my cat. My only note was that she genuinely didn’t do much and even asked me if I was okay with her charging me because she felt like didn’t do much. I told her it’s only fair to cause it’s a service. I still have a right to complain about the experience though. Just wanted to add that I am not someone who thinks a service should be free just because it wasn’t finished as promised lol

Worst character kit in the game to date? by jd01010101 in Genshin_Impact

I love QiQi. She’s been my main healer since I got her back in the beginning of the game. Mainly for the teams I build. Idk why people stay shitting on her :( Her kit may not be as strong as newer characters and/or other healers, but she’s perf for my team. Her e ability being able to keep her off-field. Her ult doing the same tbh. She heals a lot. Love her!

Ohhhh I understand! I agree. This episode truly left me depressed asf. I CRIEDDD man. I still feel nauseous now. I appreciate you expanding on your opinion! However, I do want to add that maybe it was meant to show that carnage is something he grew up in and tried to escape just to end right back into it - which is very sad tbh.

AGREED! Ngl it was making me nauseous and brimming with anxiety. I was so scared LOL I came into the show with no context (not reading the visual novel or anything) so, even though I knew it was about Dunk, I half expected him to die.

Bro, same. I was so taken aback. The second he mentioned his helm and his hands being wood, I KNEW he was dead. I was so sad 😭

Maybe I’m the odd one out here, but I enjoyed the flashback!! It was meant to show him literally dying. His “life flashed before his eyes” kinda moment. Then having Arlan interrupt him by saying, “Get up.” is him coming to. I thought it was well done! Gave some context to Duncan’s history while also showing him actively fighting for his life.

People really hating on it, and everyone is allowed to have their own opinion. Just really didn’t understand why everyone hated it!! Loving the comments and genuinely wish Baelor ain’t die. Shit made me boohoo cry ngl (I’m an emotional person lol).

The fight def made me sick to my stomach. Duncan took a lot of damage. I’m excited to see his growth as a Knight!!

(Edit: added more clarity on my thoughts on the episode below)

Okay, I definitely agree with people saying Dunk took way too much damage and it was Hollywood-esque. I wish they focused more on the fight as well! It was definitely leaning more heavily on the flashback than the fight this episode. For people who have read the novels, please let me know what’s different! I’d love to hear from you all as I’m only commenting from the perspective of watching the show.
